Working from home and sharing a house with someone who works shifts means it can often be difficult to get ready for meetings at short notice if Steve is asleep in our bedroom after a night shift. I’ve been finding myself getting ready for meetings that have been hastily arranged whilst having to either tip toe around the bedroom or get ready downstairs with no clue how I actually look.
With us no longer using the dining room as a dining room, it really has totally become my home office and with the knowledge in mind that I am often using this space to get ready, when offered the Silver Abbey Leaner Mirror to review from Exclusive Mirrors, I knew I had to include it in my office. I did ponder on putting it in the bedroom first of all as if Steve is at work during the day, I can get ready in there but knowing how often I find myself getting preened in my office, I knew it had to go downstairs.
I’ve been slowly revamping my office lately – trying to declutter and get rid of anything not work related (however the paperwork always builds up somehow, doesn’t it?). I’m even hoping to re carpet if I can do so at limited expense! With limited space to keep everything it has been difficult to find space for everything I need whilst also working out what needs to go but this mirror is definitely a necessary addition to my office. I live in a tiny village but we have our own business community and social networking events and even blog events and whilst I cannot get to every single one, I try to make as many as possible and need to obviously look my best if meeting potential new people to work with.
We have a small mirror in the bathroom but I needed something full length that could fit into my home office (and life) seamlessly and enable me to get ready without disturbing Steve if he was home from a night shift. Perils of a relationship with someone who works shift work when you are self employed and working from home, unfortunately!
The mirror is extremely popular with the companies customers and it is easy to see why. For a full length ornate mirror it is currently retailing at £119 down from £163. It is adaptable enough for any room – silver really does seem to work anywhere – but there are also a couple of other colours to choose from. It is described as a leaner mirror but there are instructions for hanging on the back if you wish to do so. I prefer to lean it as it looks better and fits better in my office this way but obviously it would be up to the individual themselves after purchasing. This particular mirror is 167cm by 81cm.
The ornate embellishments which I’ve photographed above really cannot be done justice in just a photo – they are absolutely beautiful and so well designed, of such good quality. It is clear to see how much work has gone in to making this mirror and to such a high standard too. Another thing I love about it is that my home office is one of the lightest rooms in the house and this mirror has really helped to brighten up the room even more by reflecting the light.
I may eventually move this to my bedroom if Steve ever changes his shifts but for right now it is sitting pride of place in my office and finally enables me to get ready for work related events without having to worry if I really do look okay! Its also going to be very handy for when the girls come round to get ready for a girls night out too!
