I don’t know about you but I am a big fan of all the celebrity shows that we often see gracing our TV screens. My particular favourite is I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here – so much so that after nearly eight years together, I managed to get Steve hooked last year and now he seems more excited about the series than me! I’m particularly loving this years group of campmates but a big topic of discussion before they entered the jungle was the rate they were getting paid.
In all walks of life, different people get paid different amounts and obviously the bigger stars are able to command a bigger fee but it is certainly interesting to see the difference between the rates the celebrities charge or are offered.
This fascinating infographic about how much celebs are paid to appear on reality shows, created by Cash Lady, certainly makes for interesting reading. For certain shows, reality stars such as those from Made In Chelsea and Geordie Shore are commanding the big bucks over ex pro England footballers but then in others, the reality stars are taking a minimal fee compared to the other stars.
I must admit that finding out that I’m A Celeb also pay a donation towards a charity of the celebrities choice is very heartwarming – however with the fees, the donations, the flights, the presents and the production costs they must be forking out some serious cash!
I am a little surprised that Grant Bovey was able to command so much in comparison to people like Heavy D and Bear who are never off of our tellies – the last I’d heard of him was when he was getting divorced from Anthea Turner, I wouldn’t say he was a celebrity at all if I am being perfectly honest!
Of course these figures are all rumoured subjecture but it can be fascinating to see what shows are prepared to put their money where their mouth is. I’m particularly impressed with how I’m A Celebrity run their show – choosing decent stars who will provide good telly and paying the right sort of money for their star status.
