Jack & his Grubbies Dungarees

I have been looking for a good quality pair of dungarees to suit Jack for a while now. I got some in the summer sales but they were all short legged and much better suited for next summer. I wanted a decent pair that Jack could wear all year round.
My prayers were answered when we were offered a pair of Grubbies dungarees to review.
Grubbies design dungarees for children from birth to 5 years and pride themselves on the quality, robustness and comfort of their designs. We were sent the Grubbies Originals in Sky (RRP £40). This particular style are a classic design with pockets and coordinating back pocket embroidery. These are available from sizes 0-6m to 4 years.

We decided to have a little photoshoot in them, although as you can see, Jack wasn’t almightily impressed by having to pose for the camera! I am so jealous of those of you whose babies and toddlers sit still during photographs…I often end up with a blur for a picture!

There are lots of things I love about these dungarees. Grubbies pride themselves on high quality and these definitely are. Jack has been through many pairs in his short lifespan but these are definitely the comfiest and they just feel so lovely – you can tell that these truly are made with care. Jack really loves the pockets because it means he can sneak Daddy’s money off the coffee table and into his piggy bank without him noticing…yes, I’ve caught him doing it a few times!

Not only that but we are currently struggling with Jack staying fully clothed. Unless we are out somewhere, Jack thinks nothing of stripping off completely, taking his nappy off and strutting around naked. This would be great if he was potty trained but since he doesn’t quite understand that yet, this does lead to a lot of accidents and a lot of laundry for me. Most dungarees have poppers near the legs to fasten the dungarees however these have to be slipped on feet to head rather than head to foot which means Jack has to take them off his shoulders to get them off – something he hasn’t mastered yet which I am ecstatic about!

All in all, I am very impressed with these dungarees. Whilst they are a little out of my usual price range, the quality of them makes them a worthwhile investment for me and I will definitely be picking up more of the range – there are so many designs left to try!

You can stay notified of everything Grubbies related via their websiteFacebookTwitter and Pinterest. If you have a child, I’d definitely suggest checking Grubbies out – you won’t be disappointed.

  1. They do look a very good fit and quality. I love dungarees, but the ones I've bought for my youngest, who is nearly 16 months, are usually too short in the trunk. x
