Like most young children, Jack loves his chocolate and sweets and isn’t all too keen on the stuff that is meant to be good for you. However he does love a good snack box and we were approached by ChewyMoon, the UK’s first nutritionally-balanced subscription snack box for children between the ages of 4 and 10. All of their snacks are made from natural ingredients with no refined sugar or nasties. Five snacks are provided as well as a ‘fun pack’ too.
First of all let me mention that you can get your first box FREE, all you need to do is pay the 98p postage cost – how great is that? I love the box that ours came in, the brand name is extremely prominent and the pug in a coat is oh so cute!
There are three simple steps to getting a subscription for your child. Step 1, tell them about your child. Step 2, browse thesnacks and rate them. Step 3, receive a box of five snacks and a fun pack!
So what snacks did we receive? We received Happy BBQ, Jack N’ Berry, Freaky Fruits, Jolly Jumble and Fantasticos which is an all natural variety box. You can choose an all natural fruit box or an all natural savoury box too. These are usually priced at £4.93 including postage.
So what does each contain and what did Jack think?
Happy BBQ – This contains smoky almonds and smoky coconut chips. Jack quite liked the coconut but like us, he isn’t a big fan of almonds. He found this snack okay but it wasn’t his favourite.
Jack N’ Berry – This contains flapjack, pure strawberry heart shapes, cranberries and blueberries and was by far Jack’s favourite, not least because it had his name on it! He loves flapjacks and the inclusion of the different fruits made for a super tasty snack.
Freaky Fruits – This contains blackcurrant drops, apricot sticks, cherry cubes, peach cubes and raspberry strips. Jack is definitely a bigger fan of the fruity snacks and he really enjoyed this one.
Jolly Jumble – This contains organic blackcurrant fruit stars, cranberries, apple and hazelnuts and made for a great snack.
Fantasticos – This contains natural flavour pizza balls, edamame beans and baked cheese – Jack is a big pizza fan and found this to be quite a tasty savoury snack.
Overall, Jack really enjoyed his snack box. In future, I would probably hit the don’t like on the Happy BBQ option and hope we get sent one of the many other options available – there are tons of different snacks and some sound super delicious. We’d definitely be hitting like on the other four though!
Would you consider buying your child a healthy snack box like this?
