I recently noticed that I don’t have many haircare posts on this blog and I was a little baffled why. I have a large amount of hair products residing in my bathroom and can’t figure out for the life of me why I haven’t posted about most of them yet! I have decided I will be trying to feature a hair product more frequently on the blog, perhaps once a fortnight. What do you think?
On that note, I was recently sent this item to review by the lovely people from Hairy Jayne. Hairy Jayne herself is a hairdresser from Brixton, who makes all her products, right up to the finishing touches, in her studio. Even the packaging is designed by her – and it is super cute, wouldn’t you agree? All ingredients used are chosen for how hair friendly there are and all shampoos are sulfate free. Definitely haircare focusing on the care aspect.
I was sent the Neroli, Vetiver and Patchouli Hair Perfume with heat protection to try out and my first impressions were great. I replaced my usual can of Batiste dry shampoo with the hair perfume to see how it matched up to its claims of refreshing ‘your hair between washes‘ and restoring ‘a silky smooth feel‘. I found that my hair looked more refreshed almost instantly and the scent was pleasant, although a little overpowering at times. I also used it on wet hair and although minor, there were definitely some differences to my hair after drying. I suffer horrendously with my hair sometimes – but this definitely worked to keep broken hairs at bay and left it feeling soft as anything.
Jayne was also kind enough to include a sample pot of her Musk treatment conditioner which I was ever so grateful for. My hair has been losing out in the pampering stakes recently as flu bugs and work rushes have come around and I knew drastic action needed to be taken to restore my hair to some of its former glory. I used a small amount of this during my last Pamper Night and was blown away. I normally use an intensive mask from Herbal Essences to give my hair some life and I was pleased to notice similar results with this conditioner. Whenever I’ve used HE in the past, people have come up to me asking if I’ve done something different to my hair as it always brings out the red and dark brown and leaves lots of shine. This seems to have produced similar results as I had quite a few people come up to me the day after and ask if I’d recently had my hair done! These remarks left me buzzing and left me promising myself to purchase the full size of this when I run out.
Hairy Jayne definitely get the thumbs up from me, not only because of their super cool name! Jayne is my middle name so I should have known this would be love from the very start! Jayne’s products have left me feeling super confident and with happy, healthy, glossy hair. What’s not to love?
