September marks the start of back to school. Children going back to the schools they are already students in and others starting a new school for the first time. But children aren’t the only people going back to school – there are plenty of teenagers starting their degrees and plenty of adults revisiting their education. Steve is one of those revisiting education as he starts his degree to become a primary school teacher.

Now every student about to start a degree needs one thing for sure: stationery. Steve will be studying at home via the Open University so needed to be kitted out with some stationery before his course started. It has been a long while since he has been back to school so we weren’t quite sure what he would need until the course actually starts but we knew he’d definitely need some good old basics – paper and pens. We were looking for a project book and headed to WHSmithΒ to grab something like that and some pens so he can make notes whilst learning. After all, students make plenty of notes!

There were plenty of offers on for back to school items which was great – but plenty had already been bought. Going towards the end of the summer holidays perhaps wasn’t our best of ideas but we did manage to grab a few items that we were looking for.

Steve has been wanting to become a primary school teacher for quite some time now but life has always got in the way. He has finally found the courage to follow his dreams and has got himself on the path to finally achieve that dream. He has been making sacrifices over the last few months to ensure that he can get to the end of the road – he’s worked all the overtime he can before switching jobs to something part time which he can study around – he made sure we had a buffer and that him studying was possible in our budget. He has always held back on his dreams for years – things have always cropped up – and I am so happy he is finally putting himself and his family first – once he’s graduated, he will be doing the thing he loves and getting paid for it – which is beneficial for all of the family.

WHSmith has plenty of back to school stationery items to suit all students needs, no matter what their age or requirements. It seems so bizarre that Jack is going back to school – back into Year 1 – and Steve is also heading back into education – with 25 years separating the two of them – and the fact that Steve is heading back to teach at the level Jack himself is at now.

Steve has been setting up his new items and his new work area ready for when term starts and his course begins. It is so important to be prepared and to ensure he is up to the challenge so he has been making an effort these past few weeks to get an area set up where he can learn from. It is okay me working from the sofa or my bedroom but he needs a dedicated area for study, away from the kids and any distractions. These stationery items are just the beginning of his setup and it will hopefully be finished before his course starts.Β Steve is now pretty much set up for going back to school and is all set to follow his dreams. It will be interesting to see how his journey fares alongside Jack’s school journey. Why not head to WHSmith for your back to school needs today – there’s plenty to choose from?
