Working from home can sometimes mean that haircare gets a little pushed back – after all, if no one is going to see it, you can sometimes wonder why you should make the effort. Having not had a proper cut (just the occasional trim) on my hair since before Jack was born, I vowed to make more of an effort with my hair – even if it was just myself and Jack who got to see it! However, I recently changed my hair dramatically – I am now the owner of a short bob – and whilst this is a little more easy to handle than really long hair, it does still require effort to look sleek and nice. Enter GHD and their wonder products.
I was sent the Oval Dressing Brush, Heat Protect Spray and Final Fix hairspray to try out. Although I do straighten my hair occasionally, I am quite lucky to have relatively straight hair so occasionally literally means occasionally. Until now, I have been a bit slack when it comes to heat protection spray – bad I know, but I used to think if only using heated straighteners on my hair every now and again, would it really matter? Of course it matters so I was pleased to see this included – especially as I start to make more of an effort with my hair. Does it work? My hair definitely felt protected from the heat and the product itself wasn’t sticky as some heat protection sprays can be – it left my hair feeling soft and smooth, as if I had just left the hairdressers.
Hairspray is something I have never really been a fan of and whilst this did seem to hold my hair into place, I know I will use this very rarely so have passed along to my friend to get her thoughts – she uses hairspray on a regular basis so I don’t feel qualified to give a proper review. I did use the paddle brush though – the oval dressing brush certainly looks like something you expect to see on a dressing table. I am so bad for buying cheap hairbrushes from here and there which have probably caused my hair untold amounts of damage. It was nice to see a better quality brush included for when I am styling my hair – and this brush actually makes the task a pleasure rather than a chore. For someone who relishes an easy life, this is definitely the brush for me.
Would I recommend GHD products? I definitely would recommend the paddle brush and the heat protection spray – they should be essential items for every woman who takes time on a haircare routine. Whilst I am not a fan of hairspray, that isn’t to say you won’t like this product so why not give it a try?

I was sent these items for the purpose of review.
