Now I know they say sleep when the baby sleeps but what happens when the baby barely naps anymore during the day and it’s the 7 year old keeping you up at night? That’s what has been happening recently and it is only in the last few days things have started to settle down. We have all had this awful bug going round and Olivia has never been the best sleeper so you can imagine what that has done to her! So I’ve been walking round like a zombie for weeks, still trying to recover myself and this cough just won’t go away!
A nap here and there has definitely been occurring – I love a daytime snooze if I can get it – but now the kids sleeping routine has gone back to semi normal, I’m actually finding my sleep is a lot better too – and I think this has a lot to do with my new Simba Hybrid Duvet. Retailing at £259 for a Super King (our bed size but you can get from a single upwards), it is a bit of a beast but oh my, you could get lost in it.
About The Duvet
It is a luxurious 10.5 tog duvet which is suitable for use all year round – perfect for me who never thinks to change it then wonders why she is too hot or too cold in certain seasons! The duvet has Simba Renew Bio™ fill – this gives a down like softness and warmth but also stops you from feeling clammy. There is nothing worse than waking up in bed feeling clammy – my pet hate!
The fresh cotton outer uses Stratos® temperature control tech to help dissipate excess heat. It has plenty of airflow and is completely breathable. You can even put a duvet cover over it and it will still remain as breathable and non clammy.
It came packaged in a sturdy, recycled storage bag which will definitely come in useful for other uses. The filling is 100% polyester with both the top and bottom cover being 100% cotton.
Care could not be any easier – it can be washed at 40°C with a mild detergent, no bleach and it can be tumble dryed on a low heat. Now I’m not too sure it would fit in my washing machine or tumble dryer so this would probably need to be a launderette job for me but for people with bigger appliances, you might be alright!
What Do We Think?
Sleep is very valuable to Steve and I but especially to Steve as he is a HGV driver and obviously needs to have had a good nights sleep before his day at work! He hadn’t been happy with our old duvet for a while so was intrigued to see what this one could offer that was different and he has been very pleasantly surprised.
It is certainly keeping us warm but without overheating, it is soft and comfortable and seems to have a nice weight to it – it isn’t like a weighted blanket but is soft and eases us to sleep well. We love that it reacts to our body temperature to ensure we don’t get too hot or cold – I am a nightmare for getting too hot in the night so this has been amazing for me!
The duvet is extremely high quality and I love the engineering expertise that has gone into creating it. It is like they have thought of every possible sleep problem someone could encounter at night and thought of a solution. Too hot, too cold, no airflow? There’s no need to worry with this duvet.
Would We Buy It Again?
We all know duvets don’t always last long but I have a good feeling that this will last a long while. At £259, it is way more expensive than any other duvet I’ve bought (I usually pick up something cheap at the supermarket then wonder why I am overheating!) but it is certainly worth the money. The quality is second to none and it really is worth every single penny. I am actually looking at purchasing some of the other Simba items too because of how impressed I am with the duvet.
