Fashion It Up

I will never claim to be fashionable nor a “fashion guru”, however I do have a keen interest in current and past trends. I may not be the fashion week type but this book, Contemporary Fashion Stylists* was definitely right up my street! This brilliantly illustrated book showcases some fashion talent that may not be household names to some, but definitely deserve the attention.
Written by Luanne McLean, a fashion stylist herself and a new mum, this book is the perfect coffee table book, available for a flick through whenever you like and sure to catch the eye of any guests you may be entertaining. There is some very interesting information contains within these pages, such as the true definition of a stylist, a history of the profession and much more. This would be brilliant for any budding fashion students out there, it truly does fill you with fashion knowledge. I fell in love with Carmen Haid’s stylings (seen in the picture below) and it was interesting to see a blogger featured (Bip Ling, above), no matter how controversial said blogger may be.
The images in this book are truly breathtaking – beautiful and fashionable all in one. One of my favourite parts of the book has to be the Stylists Notebook, pictured below.
Although I am unlikely to use these pages myself, these are a great resource for encouraging young fashion lovers to become confident in their designs. I know a few of my fashion crazy friends would have loved this book when they first started out!

This book is available for pre-order here for just under £17 and it’s worth every penny in my eyes.

Who is your favourite designer or stylist who some may not have heard of?
