So what did we think of the box?
Bisto Creamy Cheese Sauce – £2.95
This is Product of the Month and I can see why. Bisto are a classic brand. We’ve always got some of their gravy in the cupboard – despite how expensive it has sadly got recently – and since we make cheese sauce quite a bit, this was a very welcome addition to the box. It helps us to make the best cauliflower cheese time after time.
Nakd fruit & nut bar Blueberry Muffin – £1.50
These are 100% natural with no added sugar or chemical nasties. They are also vegan and gluten free and make for the perfect on the go snack. I have found in the past that other brands natural bars can taste and feel a little cardboardy but I was very surprised by this. It was full of flavour, a great texture and is 1 of your 5 a day too!
Sharwoods Chefs Special Tikka Masala Curry Kit – £2.80
We love a curry in our house but sometimes we cannot be bothered with the faff of making one from scratch. This kit takes that stress away and you can make a curry in just two simple steps! We will definitely be buying more of these!
Mission Wraps Carb Balance Wraps – £1.80
These have only 9g of cards per wrap which is 66% less than the original Mission wraps. We love wraps in our house – Olivia often has them in her packed lunch – so these went down a treat. I do have one gripe though – I’ve often found that when receiving wraps in these boxes, they are very short dated and sometimes even go out of date on the day of receiving the box or day after. Perhaps this is something that could be adjusted in future?
Cirio Passata Rustica – £1.50
Like any kitchen, we always have some passata in the cupboards for when we need it. We love the Cirio brand and this is made from 100% Italian tomatoes. Definitely delicious and perfect for pastas, pizzas and many other dishes.
Pip Organic Pineapple & Mango Smoothie – £1.50 each
These definitely did not last long with my kids around. They provide 1 of your 5 a day and contain 100% organic fruit. Each carton contains 1.5 apples, 1/4 of a banana, 1/4 of a pineapple, a chunk of mango and a dash of squeezed orange. Absolutely delicious and my kids loved them!
Clearspring Organic Japanese Silken Tofu – £1.89
I had never tried tofu before so getting this was very intriguing. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it so looked up some ideas and really enjoyed what I did with it. Would I buy it again? Probably not but I’m open to trying it again.
Linwoods Protein Overnight Oats – £4
These seem like such a healthy and convenient breakfast and are perfect for Steve who is on a weight loss journey but trying to get plenty of protein. These are a source of protein, fibre and omega-3 and these are easy to meal prep for him to take with him.
Overall this was a fairly good box, however I do feel that the restrictions do make it hard to give a full review. I’d definitely recommend trying the box for yourself and seeing what you think.
