A little while ago when placing an order on Boots.com for my normal Elizabeth Arden products, I thought I’d treat myself to a few Clinique goodies and this just happened to be something that hopped into my basket. I reviewed the Clinique Superbalm Moisturising lip treatment here back in October and I was intrigued to see how the gloss compared to the lip treatment. After all, they are pretty similar formulas!
I have mentioned numerous times that I am definitely more of a lipstick girl, however my lipgloss collection has recently been pulling me back in and I’ve hardly been kicking and screaming. Perhaps it was the realisation that I have far too many lip products or perhaps my point of view has subtly shifted since having Jack? I used to adore gloss until I was about 16, then lipstick came into my life and lipgloss was banished from all corners of my bedroom.
Now that I’m 23 and lipstick isn’t the most practical product of choice with a 14 month old baby (trust me, smeared lipstick all over my face and Jack is not a good look! He always seems intrigued by the fact I have colour on my lips…strange child!), lipgloss has shown itself to be a much quicker and cleaner idea when wanting to add a touch of shine to my look.

The product comes packaged in a small clear tube which is quite a good idea. These glosses aren’t the cheapest on the market and being able to see just how much you’ve used is handy in the long run. Once applied, the gloss is a little sticky on the lips but nothing too unbearable – it is hardly noticeable after a little time has passed.
Whilst the gloss has a subtle pink sheen in the tube (described as a pale blue pink with white shimmer on the official Clinique website), this doesn’t really transfer to the lips in my case, instead applying much like a clear gloss as you can see above. If you were buying for the colour, this would of course be a problem but if you are just looking for a little bit of shine, this may just be the gloss for you.

I LOVE these glosses from Clinique, I think this is the shade I have it in, I don't use it enough though. I love wearing mine with just a coat of mascara and some concealer for a simple look 🙂 x

God bless Clinique. I swore by their lip balm while I was working in an air conditioned chocolate shop which dried out my skin like nothing else!
