As well as looking for a new house, we’ve also been considering getting a new car. We need something a little bigger but something that has a similar amount of boot space to what we have now. Trying to find a car that fits all of our requirements is proving to be quite difficult and there are some other aspects to consider such as budget and the safety of the car.
We’ve had a few different makes and models in mind but without knowing much about them except for the main features, it’s difficult to assess just how safe they actually are. The Accident Advice Helpline have released a fantastic interactive graphic showcasing the safest cars around right now.
I must admit that none of the cars we were thinking about actually make the list so that has proved to be a little bit of a spanner in the works. This fantastic graphic shows different sizes of cars and assesses their driver safety rating, their passenger safety rating and the pedestrian safety rating. There are a couple of cars on the list that Steve would definitely consider so we may just have to opt for one of those so we can be safe in the knowledge that we will be fairly safe in that car.
It can be so easy to get lost in statistics and data so having a resource like this, especially when you are currently in the market for a new car, is great. Last time we went shopping for a car, we didn’t know what to look for really…we just knew it needed to be big enough for us and have a decent size boot space. There is so much to consider and it can easily fly straight over my head as I’m not the driver – I rely on Steve to be the brains when it comes to car related things.
With this information in mind, I feel like we can make a much more informed decision when it comes to purchasing either a new or used car. We know what we need and what we want but it is also important to consider different factors when it comes to making such a big and important decision.
