My Review
I mentioned in my review of the first book in the series, Murder on the Menu, that I loved the character of Jodie and her mother and daughter too. I also loved that Tony and Nathan, the handsome policeman, made another appearance as well as Debbie and her husband, Tony’s friends from the first book who have now moved to the area and become firm friends with Jodie too.
The premise of the book was interesting – a world renowned artist, his snooty wife and the people they surrounded themselves with who couldn’t be trusted. I loved the build up to the reveal and was shocked at exactly what happened but I can see it made sense and tied up a few loose ends, tying a few different crimes together.
I wasn’t too sure about the love interest in this one though – however I did love the continued flirtation with both Tony (her old school friend) and Nathan (the handsome policeman who moved to the area). I’m not quite sure which one I’d like her to be with yet – they’re both good for her in different ways however she’s only just starting to see Tony in a different light whereas she is very into Nathan – despite her protestations.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in the series.

Fiona Leitch is a writer with a chequered past. She’s written for football and motoring magazines, DJ’ed at illegal raves and is a stalwart of the low budget TV commercial, even appearing as the Australasian face of a cleaning product called ‘Sod Off’. Her debut novel ‘Dead in Venice’ was published by Audible in 2018 as one of their Crime Grant finalists. After living in London, Hastings and Cornwall she’s finally settled in sunny New Zealand, where she enjoys scaring her cats by trying out dialogue on them. She spends her days dreaming of retiring to a crumbling Venetian palazzo, walking on the windswept beaches of West Auckland, and writing funny, flawed but awesome female characters.

This sounds like a fun read, a bit like Death in paradise/Midsummer Murders which is always a great concept.
I have recently got in to thrillers but I love a light hearted book so this sounds like a great combo x
I love thrillers but never read a cosy mystery book. Sound like a great read when you are after something fun and light with a crime twist.
