Blog Takeover: Sarah’s Beauty Emporium

Hi There, Bex’s lovely readers! I’m Sarah and I usually blog over at my blog, Sarah’s Beauty Emporium, which is a Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle blog. Today I’ll be talking to you about some of my favourite MAC Lipsticks, as I am a huge fan of the brand and the makeup that they do. I do buy more than just lipsticks from MAC, but I thought I’d share with you my top 5 lipsticks, as my lipstick collection is the biggest part of my MAC collection.

1. Odyssey

I bought this lipstick back in November after hearing quite a bit about it. At the time, I wasn’t sure if purple lips suited me and my light blonde hair, so I was very hesitant to buy it. Eventually, I did take the plunge and buy it, and I’m so glad I did as I went on to wear it throughout the whole of Autumn and Winter. It’s been taken out of my handbag and put back in my MAC drawer for now, but I’m sure it’ll reappear later this year, in time for AW14.

2. Creme Cup

Creme Cup was my first ever MAC Lipstick, and I bought it at my first ever blogger’s event last April! I’m on my third bullet/tube (whatever you call it) of this now, and I absolutely love it. I’ve been going for a more bolder lip look lately, but I always find myself going back to Creme cup, which is a more neutral shade. It is a pink shade, but it’s not a deep pink so it’s good for everyday wear, such as work. I wear this to work as it’s noticeable enough to wear, but it’s subtle enough to get away with, as I’d definitely look strange walking round work (in a cafe) wearing bright red lipstick! I’ve also recently found that pairing Creme Cup with a lipgloss gives it another dimension – I love it.

3.  Viva Glam Rihanna

This is the newest addition to my lipstick collection, but time after time I am complimented when I’m wearing it. I love this, and it seems to really suit me – Even the lady in MAC was like “Wow, that really suits you” when I tried it on (and promptly bought it). It’s a blue-toned frost finish red, and it’s quite shimmery as well. I’ve heard a lot of people say that they don’t like the frost finish lipsticks, but personally I really like the formula of them – they go onto the lips so easily, and they’re pretty pigmented too. I also love the shimmer that is found in many frost lipsticks.

4. Coral Bliss

I got this lipstick last summer, and I wore it to death – Literally. I had it on me all the time during the hot summer last year, and it melted in my bag – So it came to a bit of a sticky end! I’ve still got what I could salvage from the tube in a palette, so I can still wear Coral Bliss for a while this summer. Coral Bliss is a pink-toned coral colour, which is orange/coral with a hint of pink. It’s a Cremesheen finish, so it’s very creamy and moisturising.

5. Ravishing

Ravishing is a lipstick that I haven’t really used much, as I only got it in October, which by then everyone (me included) was wearing dark reds and purples. Now that Spring has arrived, this lipstick is definitely going to be getting a lot more love. It’s similar to Coral Bliss, but it’s more orange-toned, and it doesn’t have that hint of pink that Coral Bliss has. I’m still undecided on which one of the two I prefer though – only time will tell!
