Blog Takeover: Beauty, Fashion, Life and Love

My lovely guest poster today is the fantastic Jen from beauty, fashion, life and love. She is a fairly new blogger who has a fab blog and is here to tell you about 5 out of 10 things she would tell her pregnant self…

Hello lovelies,

As promised the second part of 10 things I would tell my pregnant self.

6 – I really wish I had appreciated the freedom I had. Being able to put my shoes on and leave the house whenever I wanted without having to calculate exactly how many hours, minutes and seconds to the next feed. Packing or checking a bag everytime I leave the house “just incase”. I would tell myself Jen if you feel like being spontaneous just do it.

7 – Yes it is lovely to have a birth plan, to imagine exactly how the whole experience will be but really you have absolutely no control. I packed and repacked mine and the babies hospital bag so many times. Made lists upon lists of what we would need. I had planned in my head how I was going to deal with the contractions the exercises I would do, things me and my fiance would do to pass the time only to get to the hospital and have my little boy 16 minutes later.  If I could go back I would chill out with all the planning, not waste my time and take it in my stride.

8 – Make the most of me time. Sit down, read a whole book, paint your toenails and definitely enjoy a relaxing bath with lots of bubbles, candles and salts. My baths now consist of rubber duckies and bath books. I wouldn’t change it for the world but I did enjoy a lovely peaceful pamper before and it is now a rarity.

9 – I was really tight when it came to maternity clothes. My muma actually ended up treating me to a few bits. I wish I had bought just a couple more things. Everything I could wear was so overworn that I spent the first month of motherhood looking so scruffy. I didn’t appreciate the fact I would probably need to wear maternity clothes for a while after. Not just clothes, shoes as well the majority of my wardrobe is heels or heeled boots, I have a couple of pairs of trainers/converse but I lived in one pair of flat boots. I say treat yourself it will make your pregnant self feel happy you love shopping.

10 – Keep walking and exercising. It was a struggle I kept going right to the day I gave birth and I am so sure it was one of the reasons I had a great birthing experience. There were so many times when I questioned whether it was really worth it so I would definitely go back to motivate and encourage myself to keep going.

If you could go back in time and tell your pregnant self something what would it be? I hope you enjoyed reading part 2 of “10 Things I would Tell My Pregnant Self”. Remember to go check out part 1.

Thank you for having me as a guest blogger and I hoped you enjoyed my post.
