Blog Takeover: Amaretti Cookies from The Velvet Moon Baker

Hi guys! I’m Tash and you’ll usually find me blogging over at The Velvet Moon Baker where I bake all manner of yummy treats from Cookies & Cream Buttercream Truffles to Salted Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes (which I also try feverishly not to devour all by myself)
I’m a 24 year old mummy to one 3 year old little girl and we live with my other half A.K.A ‘Daddy’ and our pet pooch Max.
Personal introductions over I shall introduce you to some of our favourite cookies in our home. Amaretti cookies. You know, like the small, crisp almond cookies you buy in the bags. Only, as with everything else, homemade is a million times better.
Plus there not hard to make at all. Infact they’re simpler to make than your regular chocolate chip cookie, with an even smaller ingredient list.
Homemade amaretti cookies have a slightly different texture to your store bought version. They’re chewier in the centre however they still have the memorable crunch on the outside and as always go perfect with a cup of coffee. Ideal for a little treat when the kiddies are down for a nap and you need a bit of an energy boost.Or if your little ones are past the napping age maybe get them involved in the baking process. I know my little princess goes absolutely nuts (in a good way) if I let her join in when I bake, although she’s a tad more partial to the spoon licking part than the actual mixing part.

A big thanks to Bex for letting me show these gorgeous biccies to you all.
I hope you try them, let me know what you think but as I said they’re a firm favourite in my house so I’m positive you’ll love them as well.

Tash is the girl behind The Velvet Moon Baker blog.

She is a 24 year old Essex native, now baking and living in the weather wild Donegal Countryside with himself and their little poppet.

She uses her blog to spread her baking wings and tells you all about it with a little real life thrown in for good measure.
