It is probably no secret to anyone that I am hardly the fittest nor healthiest of people. I am still carrying around pretty much all of my pregnancy weight and whilst I would love to lose it, I won’t bow down to pressure to lose it – I will do so in my own good time. Just after Jack was born, I started zumba and would happily have continued to do so to this very day if I could afford the weekly fee.
However, financial troubles meant that zumba was just something I couldn’t afford. I’ve also been given the opportunity to try out the Jenny Craig diet – but whilst I did lose a little weight, I didn’t really like it. I have lost a little bit of weight since being back at work – running up and down the stairs all day does help – but that is really the only exercise I get.

Now that Jack is walking, my plan for this summer is to get into shape. Whether that means chasing after him in the park for a whole afternoon, or strapping him into his buggy for a quick run – I will be doing it. At the moment, my life consists of work and being a mum – I barely have time to think, let alone exercise – and besides I’m always too exhausted by the end of the day! Hopefully, if all goes to plan and I become a WAHM, I will be able to include daily exercise into my routine – and perhaps even go back to zumba!
Steve and I did take some steps recently to make our eating habits a little healthier and we both lost a little bit of weight through it – just by eating some healthier food. After seeing an advert for the NHS Be Food Smart campaign, Steve urged me to apply for their free recipe book – and we picked out 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches and 7 dinners from the little book to try. You can see pictures of some of the meals on my Instagram but here are a couple of pictures:
We’re planning on doing this again very soon as we seem to have slipped into our old bad eating habits recently – with me working days and Steve doing days or nights and looking after Jack, convenience has taken over from healthy – and that’s not good to slip back into!
When we do this again, would you like me to share some recipes on the blog? Let me know!

You should never bow down to pressure! You're lovely the way you are 🙂 I understand the convinence bit all too well as me and my bf do the same, might have to take some tips from you 🙂 xx
<3 thanks hun x
This might sound silly but some women actually prefer having that pregnancy fat around for a while. It feels comforting to them, and some women never lose it ever. In fact fat is such a hard word to use I prefer podge lol :>
But no I reckon that if I was ever pregnant, I wouldn't ever lose my larger size unless I started feeling unwell with it (which is why I am trying to eat healthily now because try as I might I just cannot be even so much bigger without feeling exhausted and without feeling the pressure on my heart.)
However on the other hand it's not like I jog or run anywere or go down the gymn so I guess I'm not actually that healthy at all. I do seriously need to think of what to do quickly because sometimes I do feel under a lot of pressure there and that is not good.
No, seriously when I put that extra bit of podge on it makes me feel good and doesn't worry me at all. With me obviously I know it's not the same because I haven't experienced the joys of pregnancy, but I am growing much faster now that I am nearing my mid twenties and I am having to keep an eye on this because my weight is going like a see saw on speed now lol.
I feel like I would make a naturally good mum if I had an extra bit on me, and babies do love fat to hide in nicely 🙂
If you still want to lose the extra pregnancy weight, then good luck to you but definitely listen to your body and take it easy. The secret of losing weight is to keep putting a little bit back on again every now and again otherwise your body may not feel comfortable immediately with the sudden changes, and will try and convince you to put it back on again.
Patience is a virtue, and it is best to think of your body like a child but your brain as that super intelligent older childhood-friend, or parent psychiatrist figure.
It gets so much easier when you consider part of yourself a friend, and not just something that just happens to be 'there' as part of you.
Thank it every now and again, and you will get nice dreams in return. I'm already dreaming in film now because I am using film characters to discover myself 😉
Good luck

Hehe, thanks x
