I’m a big fan of apps especially when they make my life a lot simpler. I have an app for pretty much everything so when asked if I wanted to trial the BIZZBY on demand lifestyle services app, I knew I had to give it a go. Unfortunately I live just outside the catchment area for some of the services as it is fairly new and predominantly London based (however it is expanding globally). With one of my friends in London in need of appliance repair, could this have come at a better time?
A company launched in 2014, BIZZBY specialises in instantly connecting consumers with the professionals and aims to get them to your door within 60 minutes – quite a claim when it comes to London and its terrible traffic but I can’t complain, they certainly do manage to deliver on the promise. The whole idea of this app works well for both consumer and professional – the consumer gets a professional to aid them quickly whilst the professional doesn’t have to worry about forking out for advertising – it benefits everyone. The pricing system is completely transparent so the consumer sees how much it will cost before booking their professional. They will never be charged over that amount.
All providers are vetted and individually reviewed and they have a very effective ‘two-way rating system on BIZZBY which helps guarantee high quality professionals, as well as protecting the professionals from time wasting customers. I think this is a great idea which could be put into practice in so many other places.
So what’s the catch? Simply put, there isn’t one.
Using the app is simple enough – you create an account and then search through the app to see which service you require. I was kindly given some credit to trial this so I quickly found appliance repair and clicked. BIZZBY offer a range of services including end of tenancy, man with a van, massages – so it is simply a case of searching for the right service for you.
Once you’ve clicked and put in your details, you are matched up with the closest professional who is available for the job. If the price is agreeable then you can click accept. Luckily there was someone around for me for a great price so I accepted and was given an arrival time on the app. A very useful feature of the BIZZBY app is the internal messaging system which alows for direct communication with the professional – since my friend lives in a flat, the app found the block so the repair man called me to get the actual address. This is very handy as you can ensure all details are correct.
After your professional finalises the task, at the tap of the button, the job is completed and you will receive a payment notification. Payments are made seamlessly by holding the circle as shown below for 3 seconds until payment goes through, it really is as simple as that.
Once paid, BIZZBY prompt you to leave feedback. My friend was very impressed with the quality and speed of the service – she noted the engineer was very qualified, able to assess the problem quickly and provide a solution. Unfortunately she is in need of a new appliance which will probably cost less than fixing hers. At least now she has had the call out she knows what is wrong.
Upon releasing payment in the app, an invoice is sent through to the email address which outlines that the work has been done and that you have paid successfully.
All in all, I am very much looking forward to seeing what BIZZBY do next. With a plan to expand globally, I can’t wait to take advantage of their services as I am always in need of some help – whether it’s a man with a van or needing a massage after a stressful week. As with all fairly new businesses, there are a few things I would improve but any concerns I may have had are already being taken on board. All in all, I am thoroughly impressed and look forward to seeing what BIZZBY do next… take over the world, perhaps? After all, everyone needs a little help sometimes!
