We mentioned recently that Jack had been having his room redecorated to make it better suited for a teenage boy. This meant getting rid of a lot of his bedroom furniture and replacing it all. We were recently contacted and asked if we would like to review a product from Bed Kingdom’s Noomi sustainable range and with that in mind, we picked the Noomi Nora Mid Drawer Unit to review.
The Noomi range is part of their sustainable living collection and features many products which are made from solid wood/FSC-certified. They only use ethically sourced Solid Scandinavian pine which grows straighter, is more robust and has fewer knots due to the cold atmosphere in the Nordic regions.
The Noomi Nora chest of 3 drawers currently retails at £159.99 and comes in a choice of two colours: grey or white. We opted for the white to go with other furniture in his room.
The biggest problem I find when it comes to chest of drawers is the space – often the drawers aren’t very deep and you cannot get that much in – however this is not a problem with this unit. The drawers are actually quite deep and very spacious so that you can actually fit a lot in!
I love how little space this unit takes up as Jack is in the smallest bedroom which also has to contend with being over the stairs. As you can imagine, space is scarce so we do all we can to maximise this. He has a double cabin bed and these would easily have fit underneath if we had wished to put them there however he currently has them underneath his TV with his charging ports and Xbox on top of the drawers.
Funnily enough, if you own the Nora Midi bed frame from the same range, these fit perfectly in the underbed space apparently!
I must admit that I am thoroughly impressed with this unit. All too often bedroom furniture is either not big enough or it is too expensive but this is neither – this has plenty of room and is such an affordable price too! He’s a teenage boy with a lot of clothes – and a lot of those clothes are thick hoodies or shorts – and he still has plenty of space in the drawers for more stuff too!
The unit is a lovely white colour and it feels great. The top of the unit is great for storage space also – as I’ve already mentioned, Jack currently has charging ports and his Xbox on there although this may not be a permanent solution!
I’ve been very impressed with what I have seen of the Bed Kingdom Noomi range and it has definitely got us considering more of their products for when we start Olivia’s room in a few weeks in preparation for Hannah moving in there and for Charlie moving into Hannah’s cot. We will be replacing Olivia’s cabin bed (a wonderful freebie from the reuse site) with brand new bunk beds and I’ve seen some on the Bed Kingdom site I am definitely considering, now knowing how good quality their products are.
