We have previously reviewed some other Baby Clementoni products – the Baby T-Rex Pink and the Disney Ball Drop House. Today, I am here with a review of the Baby Clementoni My First Tablet. It is also available here on Amazon {affiliate link}.

The tablet is for children between the ages of 12 and 36 months (1-3 years of age) and is designed to help skills such as visual perception, hearing perception, tactile perception and hand-eye coordination among others.

The electronic tablet speaks to the child and has some fab songs, nursery rhymes and fun sound effects and light displays. There are three big buttons which you use to choose exactly what you want to do. There are also nine illuminated icons which coincide with the sound effects and light displays – these enable your child to learn the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colours and animal noises. So what did we think?

Olivia started using this just before she turned two and is of course, now two. She is right in the middle of the suggested age range. This definitely shows when using the tablet. She already knows some of the things that the tablet has been trying to teach whereas a younger child would probably be learning them for the first time. However she is also finding out new things as well as she plays more and more with it which is great.

She is already quite adept at using our actual family tablet, she knows how to get on to the kid’s apps and YouTube Kids, so I was intrigued to see how she got on with this baby tablet and how she would find it, seeing as it is something designed for her age and wouldn’t offer the same things our family tablet does. I was worried in case she got bored quite easily but I needn’t have worried. She will happily spend ages playing with it, singing along to the songs and rhymes, repeating the animal noises, colours etc and having so much fun.

I love educational electronic toys like this as I always find that a child benefits from them, whether they only learn a little or they learn a lot. As I mentioned before, Olivia is right in the middle of the suggested age and she has learned a lot from the tablet but already knew quite a bit too. I could see this being a really handy resource for a slightly younger child.

Overall I have been really impressed with the tablet. I love listening to Olivia sing along and chatter to the tablet and I have definitely seen her come out with some new things since playing with it. It is such an affordable price too, it would make a fantastic gift for the little ones in your life.
