Whilst at Britmums Live, I happened to wander over to the Parragon Books stand to take a look – Jack loves his books and has loads of them, although he does have his clear favourites! I was kindly given a couple of books to take home and review with Jack and see how we got on.
It was a very hot day when we took these pictures and Jack was getting very grumpy, throwing all his toys around. I sat him down with his books and he soon calmed down; he loves turning the pages and pretending he is actually reading the words to himself. This book is I Am Big. Jack loved trying out all the pull out pictures and turning the pages; he seemed really entranced by the pictures. I think the bright colours are what attracted him.
We also received Hickory Dickory Dock to review. This is definitely Jack’s favourite of the two books. Although he is a fan of I Am Big, the puppet in this book is what really swings it for him, I think. He loves it when anyone uses the puppet and squeaks like a mouse in his direction and he also tries to mimic us too by doing the same.
Jack really thinks this book is hilarious and always gets excited if he sees me pick it up, thinking he’s going to be treated to it at storytime again! As for me? I haven’t tired of re-reading it over and over just yet….

I had 2 puppet books by paragon for Aiden – This Little Piggy and something about a Doggy (can't remember the title) – but Aiden destroyed them to the point where I've had to throw them out 🙁 It's a shame, they are lovely books and he really enjoys the puppet aspect too!
