We are going on holiday in a few weeks time and once we get back, we have so much planned but also so much left to plan. Between Jack leaving his wonderful pre school and him starting at the local nursery, I have six weeks to entertain him in – six weeks that Steve will be working shift work in so it will be difficult to get to some places as I don’t drive.
We’ve already got our local butterfly sanctuary, soft play park, playground and the seaside on the list but I’ve got so much more that I would like to do. Go fruit picking, something I haven’t done since I was pregnant with Jack. Go to Peppa Pig World – its been on our to do list for ages, why not do it? Go to Dunstable Downs and fly a kite? Go for a long walk and see where our feet take us – although I would probably have to invest in some new boots for all of us if we do so. Flats just won’t cut the mustard on a long walk and Steve especially needs some new men’s boots.
I wrote a guest post last summer over on Becky’s blog, Your Modern Family, about some summer activities for your toddler and I’d also like to incorporate some of those too. Plus Jen always has some fantastic ideas too for summer activities when it comes to children!
Steve and I also want to do a few things ourselves over the summer months. I’m excited for some local literary festivals and I know he can’t wait to get out there and play golf. Also after our fab night out at Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (read my post here) the other month, we are keen to make that a regular occurrence. I’ve been entering competitions for free tickets but I’m also scouring the free audience websites too – living near Elstree AND London means we often have a plethora of shows to choose from.
I’ve got so much I want to do over the summer but I know I’m still going to run out of ideas. What have you got planned for the summer?

Wow-it sounds like you've got a busy few weeks ahead. Very exciting though! 🙂 We are spending some time with my brother and sister in law, some time at home and going to see Tom Jones perform at the races. I'm hoping we will have lots of picnics and that the sun will shine for us. Enjoy your activities x.
