Collaborative Post
I recently posted regarding how I got on with my 2020 goals. We all know last year was pretty much a washout so I’m not going to be too tough on myself this year with my goals – I want stuff that is going to be achievable. So here are the goals I have for 2021.
Read 25 Books
I am starting low as last year I set myself too high a goal. I can always amend it and increase it if I manage to hit early. I’m already on book 5 of the year so this could be fairly achievable.
Get Rid Of All Debt
I set this last year and didn’t quite manage it so I desperately want to make this happen this year so I can go into 2022 without owing anything.
Grow My Business
This was a goal I achieved last year and one I am keen to achieve again. I’ve had some amazing things happen work wise in the last few months – some big articles with my own byline, some new virtual assistant clients and regular ghostwriting work. It would be nice to see my business go from strength to strength in 2021 – but that does mean I need to put the effort in!
Cease Any Bad Habits
I am awful for biting my nails so I want to stop doing that this year. The thing is when I do stop, I stop for ages and they get lovely and long! I don’t smoke but have family that do and are trying to quit – they have been shopping for vapes because they no longer want to be tied to a packet of cigarettes.
I’m also awful for not going to bed at a reasonable time which is causing trouble with my sleeping at the moment so I really want to sort that out.

Travel More
….but don’t put pressure myself if this isn’t achieved. No one knows what the travel landscape is going to look like, even by the end of this year, so if I do manage to travel, it will be a major plus point!
Save More Money
If I manage to achieve my goal of getting rid of all debt, I’d love to save more money. I’ve been trying to save as much as possible whilst also paying off as much debt as possible but I’d be able to save so much more if there was no debt to pay. I am thinking about trying some different saving challenges that are out there and other ways to maximise the amount of money I can move into my savings account.
File My Tax Return Early
For the first time in 6 years, I actually filed the tax return that is due in a couple of weeks early. I managed to get it done in September when usually I am scrabbling around on the 2nd or 3rd week of January, trying to work it all out. I’m keen to get it filed as soon as I possibly can in April, my books are all up to date so far, so I can ensure I have the right amount to pay in tax as and when I need it.
Overall, I feel like my goals for this year are fairly achievable – as goals should be! What goals do you have for the year ahead?

Great goals – love the notebook! I really want to travel more so hoping we can this year!
Love your goals and hope you achieve them
I find that if I want to achieve something in life then I need to set myself some goals, as well as realistic approaches to achieving those goals.
Great goals I am sure you will achieve many of them. I think I need to save more money this year
These are really achievable goals for the year. I am pleased to see that I am not alone in blitzing through the books this year.
I am on my 4th reading book and about to start my 3rd audiobook of the year. Listening to books while I work from home is a revelation! I feel like I wasted the first lockdown not making the most of this!
Good luck with your goals this year x
I’d love to read 25 books this year. I love to read and keep promising myself I’ll give myself more time to do it but haven’t actually done that yet.
I was the one scrambling this month with only a few days left before it’s due but hope to improve filing my taxes.
These are great goals Sarah, mine aren’t all that dissimilar this year. Good luck with them!
Great goals, hope you achieve them. I also want to read more this year.
Reading more is defo one of my main goals for this year as well, I got back into reading when Covid first started but haven’t been very consistent with managing it yet
