Food & Drink, Reviews

Degustabox | December

I was sent a Degustabox for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own. For reference, I get sent a PR box which has items from both the box with alcohol and the box without – those buying won’t – I am sent all the items to showcase exactly what is in them.

Can you believe it is time for another Degustabox review? This time around, the theme was of course. Gourmet & Fiesta, because who isn’t all about the food in December? Don’t forget that the box currently retails at £12.99 but you can get your first box for just £7.99 with shipping included. Just use this code WDGX9 on the website here (the code gets you a one time discount of £5).

So what did we get in this months box? Shown in the image above are some Gloriously Grown Vietnamese Jumbo Wrapped Cashews which retail at £3 and didn’t make it any further as they were snapped up and munched on. They were super tasty. There’s also some UFIT Crunchers Sea Salt & Vinegar crisps which are no more than 158 calories per bag. Finally some King Monty chocolate which was absolutely delicious. Onto the rest of the box:

MadeGood Granola Bars – £2.90 each

These granola bars are allergy friendly which makes them great for sending in to school in the kid’s lunchbox or as their snack. They contain the nutrients of one full serving of vegetables. The kids have been working their way through these and really enjoy them.

Candy Kittens Tropical Mango Gourmet Sweets – £2

This isn’t the first time Candy Kittens have been included in the box and we were very happy to see them again – we really enjoy these sweets, they are super tasty!

Arden’s Gruyere & Spinach Twists – £1.75

The kids really enjoyed this – we barely got a look in. They are very flavourful with a satisfying crunch and can be eaten straight from the box or with a delicious dip.

Oteas Green Tea, Cranberry, Cherry & Strawberry – £3.39

We don’t really drink flavoured teas in our house so we will be passing along to a friend but these sound ever so flavourful and we have enjoyed teas from the brand before.

Very Lazy Chopped Garlic – £1.50

We love the Very Lazy products and we use a lot of garlic in recipes so this has been very useful already. We always have some of this ready for the delicious meals we are making – such a good quality product.

Lagunitas DayTime Session IPA – £1.80

We don’t drink beer in this house so we will be passing this onto my father in law to enjoy but this is just 98 calories per bottle with a 4% ABV!

Pedrino Vermouth & Tonic Spritz – £1.95

I am not the biggest fan of tonic so I haven’t yet tried this, saving it for a rainy day but this is 5.5% and uses all natural ingredients! Sounds quite refreshing.

Blue Dragon Thai Holy Basil Stir Fry Kit (£1.50) & Blue Dragon Teriyaki Street Food Skewers (£2.70)

We use a lot of Blue Dragon products in our house and often make a stir fry so the stir fry kit proved super helpful and was very tasty. I hadn’t seen the teriyaki street food skewers before but we gave them a go and were very impressed with them too. Will be buying both items again.

Indie Bay Snacks (milk/dark chocolate pretzel spelt bites) – £1.25 each

We’ve had these in the box before and we liked them but they weren’t our favourite. The kids have enjoyed these as an after school snack.

Smith & Sinclair Alcoholic Cocktail Gummies – £15 for a selection of 8

These are so tasty! They are made by a London based cocktail confectionery specialist and are blended like a real cocktail with premium spirits, fresh fruit and syrups. They are vegan and each gummy contains half a shot – so tasty!

I was very impressed with the box this month – they had Christmas dining down to a tee – we all head to parties where there is party food so the sweets, cashews, alcoholic gummies, crisps and alcohol would all go down a treat and the Blue Dragon products are perfect for when you’re fed up of party food and turkey! I can’t wait to see what is in the next box!
