I have to admit, I have always been curious about this product. Even before I started blogging & reading loads of blogs, it was common to see this product featured in beauty editors top picks. For years though, I was dubious – surely it can’t be as great as it is hyped up to be? I had also started to see negative reviews pop up on blogs so when I saw both the 30ml and the larger size for sale in my local Space NK for £11, curiosity got the better of me and lo and behold, this was added to my ever growing beauty collection.
I couldn’t have picked a better time to pick this up; the heatwave we have been having has been playing havoc with my skin, it constantly feels dehydrated, lacklustre and lifeless and this works as a toner to really perk it up.
With extracts of grape, peppermint and orange blossom, you can imagine the peppermint will overpower the scent slightly – and it does, which is quite a wake up call if using first thing in the morning. I actually quite like the scent but even I find it a little too much early in the morning! I have been using this most days for the past week or so; only stopping for a couple of days to try out an alternative product – and as you can see from the pictures above, I am getting through it quite quickly which is a little problem! I either use this on bare skin to brighten it up a little or on the odd occasion, over a full face of makeup to set it for the day which has actually been quite successful – my make up hasn’t slipped off my face in the heat as much if I have applied this!
Whether it really can do all that it claims remains to be seen. However, I do know that it leaves me feeling refreshed and I do feel as if my skin looks more radiant – perhaps I am fooling myself? I’m not too sure if I am falling for a gimmick here or if I actually do have a great product on my hands. I am going to continue using this and will also be doing a comparison post between this and a few alternative products, coming soon!
Would I say the Caudalie Beauty Elixir is worth the hype? In a nutshell, yes. It definitely leaves me feeling refreshed and I do feel as if it is toning my skin and making it look brighter and less lacklustre. Can the alternatives match up? Come back soon to find out!

I LOVE this, and pretty much anything by Caudalie for that matter!

It's lovely!
I've never seen this before. I wonder if I can find it here in the US. I've been having problems with my face as well so I'm looking for a product that really works. I'll wait until you've used it a little longer and wait for your final word. 🙂
It will be coming soon!x
Really great review – love the conflict you had with your self because I know the feeling to well!!

Haha, damn inner conflict!
Great review! I'm personally not a fan of the ingredients (too many scented extracts for my liking), so won't be trying any time soon x
Thanks lovely!
I had no idea about Caudalie. But I am always up for the trendiest in skincare. Thanks for the share!
