Hair removal can be a contentious issue. Some people think that people shouldn’t have to remove body hair as it is there for a reason whereas others want to remove theirs. I am of the mind that everyone should do what they themselves are comfortable with and for me, I choose to remove body hair. I don’t do it for anyone but myself, I feel more comfortable that way but I do struggle with the fact that my hair is quite thick and dark and grows pretty quickly. I feel like I am always in the bathroom!
I remember being back at school at GCSE level and noticing some light hair on my upper lip but no one else seemed to notice. I was mortified and as the months went by, the hair got darker until I took action with it after a ‘friend’ made a comment about it. I shave my legs and armpits regularly but have recently been considering laser hair removal as if I am being honest, I am getting fed up of having to set aside time in my day to do something I see as a necessity for myself for short term effects when there is something out there with effects for the long term. But will it work for me?
This infographic from ProSkin helps to work out if you are suitable and I fall into the ‘Great’ category – my hair colour and skin colour mean I should see very good results from treatment. I was shocked to see just how long women spend shaving their legs in a lifetime – 72 days seems a crazy amount of time, doesn’t it?
Whilst I am still undecided, it definitely seems like a worthwhile investment for me when women spend an average of £7000 on shaving during their lifetime. Have you ever considered laser hair removal?

Nice article — you explained the pros and cons of laser-hair removal clearly. It’s good to know what to expect before deciding on a treatment.
