Worries

I’ve always been an old worrier, have I. It stems back even to when I was a child – I’d worry if I did something wrong and that my parents would find out, I’d even worry if I didn’t do something wrong but someone else had! I’m just one of life’s plain old worriers and it isn’t a trait that I like in myself.
Having a baby means growing up – and growing up means a whole lot more worry on your shoulders. Once you have a child, there is so much more to think about – not only is there an extra mouth to feed, but blimey, these little humans do not come cheap!

It is always best to be prepared in the event of anything happening – and this is why myself and Steve have been discussing the merits of life insurance recently. Our latest policy has just ran out and we desperately need to sort out a new one just in case.

I may only be 22, almost 23, and I may not feel grown up at times – but there are times when you just have to bite the bullet and realise that life is never going to be the same again.

I’ve come to realise that 2013 is the year to become more responsible; I’m not 18 with two jobs, vast disposable income and no ties anymore, I have a family now. Jack is who comes first now and preparation is key.

I know only too well just how fragile life can be.

    1. Oh, same! I get told off because I worry too much x

  1. Life is incredibly fragile – I've had ties all my life to emergency services (my parents are both paramedics) and I've heard a lot of horror stories about lives cut short too soon. I actually almost died a year and a half ago (luckily, I was taken to the hospital in time – another few hours and I wouldn't have survived), and it all stemmed from a tick bite. It's always best to be prepared.

  2. We need to get our wills sorted out, but we got substantial life insurance (not the bare bones coverage you get at work) within a few months of our first child being born. It's expensive but brings huge peace of mind, knowing they'll be provided for if anything happens to either of us.

  3. I have to admit that you are doing fantastically well. I wouldn't have been able to do what you are doing now, I have enough problems just looking after myself lol.
I still find it amazing that you have a family already and that you and Steve have gone so fast. It only seemed like yesterday when I first met you, and I'm so glad that I did.
