we always have advents for the kids, chocolate ones, and also a Disney book one for bedtime routine, kids get so excited, so lovely to see them so full of magical expectation

We don’t have any family traditions for the run up to Christmas, but I love all the cooking and baking that needs to be done in preparation for the big feast
We always go to the Christmas market the Saturday before Christmas and enjoy a meal in town the whole family.
i love xmas eve, we always have a xmas eve box with a movie, pjs and hot chocolate!

Elf on the shelf!
I don’t really have any run-up to Christmas traditions. I used to buy myself a chocolate advent calendar but now I just donate one to the local food bank instead. We tend to have a Christmas present exchange with the family in mid-December but we didn’t get to have one last year. We are planning to have one this year but I think it’ll be a socially distanced get together, possibly held outside in the cold!

On Christmas Eve, we always go ice skating and then for hot chocolates. Then we come home and the kids open their Christmas Eve boxes before bed

On the first of December I always take my mum to get a Christmas tree from the Christmas tree farm. Then we spend the evening decorating it and a bottle of Processo!
We have a small gift every day from 1 December onwards!

My favourite Christmas tradition is visiting as many Xmas Fayres as possible.
My fiancé and I have great fun keeping each other’s gifts a secret from one another, teasing and dropping hints. Never enough to give anything away, and quite often purposely misleading! 😀 It’s become a fun game that we play each year now in the lead up to Christmas Day.

Every year we have advent calendars on the runup to Xmas
We always prepare an advent calendar for our grandchildren. Each day from 1 December they get to open a draw in a wooden advent calendar. Inside the drawer is a piece of paper saying for whom the gift is on that day. Whoever does not get a gift on that day receives a chocolate coin. Gifts are small and inexpensive but they all look forward to opening each day.
We have elf on the shelf but he just gets up to mischief more than anything tbh. The kids love then though which makes me smile.

I love advent calendars it’s like Christmas lasting a whole month, as you get a little gift every day
There is a Holly Tree on my Great-Grandparents Grave, and my Grand Parents Grave it next to it. Me and my Dad visit every year just before Christmas, to spend time with them but to also get some Holly Sprigs off the tree to put up at home so they’re with us.
