Trying out a wedding car!
I am going to have a little rant tonight – and whilst I realise that some of it is probably my own bloody fault, I need to vent my anger somewhere.
Weddings are big business, everyone knows that. Megabucks can be splashed out on just one day or it can also be done extremely thriftily if you know what you are doing. Businesses are all vying for your money – come on, the wedding market is totally over saturated with absolutely everything – think of the last time you found a business that catered to weddings that was doing something totally unique.
I recently visited a wedding fair, which I talked about in a previous post, and it wasn’t …amazing, shall we say? However, I did come away with a few ideas and a possible DJ so not all was lost. When we arrived, I was asked to fill in a sheet of paper with my details which I knew would automatically give consent for companies to contact me. No problem, I thought, I don’t mind a couple of emails, letters or phone calls here and there.
I’ve had emails from plenty of businesses and saved them all to a wedding folder in my emails for the next time Steve and I both have the same day off so that we can go through them. I’ve had a few pleasant telephone conversations with some lovely companies and I’ve had a few letters pop through my letterbox too. I’m not complaining about any of these.
However, there are some companies that have sent me not 1, not 2, not 3 but more emails! I’ve also had emails from other companies telling me that the date is free so shall we go ahead and book the venue like discussed! I hadn’t even heard of the venue before they emailed me telling me all this! I’m starting to go slightly stir crazy with my overflowing inbox – as I said I don’t mind the majority of them, but if you’re pressuring me with tons of emails or a pushy tone in your emails, don’t expect me to go with your company!
Have I got to expect this for everything when it comes to planning my wedding? So much hassle! Haha!
Man, wedding fairs are awful at that. I can't believe how much spam mail and emails I got after attending one.
Actually one of the reasons I have a real email and one of "spam"

Wow, I've never had to deal with any of this but I definitely wouldn't be a fan of the spam mail. I'd tell them where to stick it. But I guess they want to help you and make money, but it's not the way to go about it. One amazing email to sell you the place is better than millions selling you nothing!
I think part of wedding planning is the hassle and stress, but not all of it! lol 🙂

Good luck girl , my aunt's wedding had got into all messes , we had to receive hundreds of emails & calls from the folks we didn't even hire .

I still get constantly harassed from one particular company that I met at a Wedding fayre. They always leave me answer phone messages / emails for someone else. I gave them my Wedding date but they seem to think I'm not yet married, I think they have allocated my contact details to another person – so annoying! x

My mums finding the same thing and with her and my dads vow renewal just 5 weeks away, it's stressful! Dont them hassle you & steve! 🙂 If you are interested I have a massive wedding folder that I can bring to the meetup for you? 🙂 xox
