Wannabe Writer #1 – How I’m Getting On With Writing My Novel

I promised Beth that I would write this so here I am. We both need to get our bums in gear and write our respective novels so I’m hoping this series of posts will help me in some way.

I’m Rebecca, 25 years old and currently writing a novel. I say currently. Well, I’ve started it. I haven’t finished it. In fact I haven’t got past the rough draft of the prologue and first chapter yet but I have a trillion notes about what I want to include. I’ve loved reading other bloggers posts about being unpublished writers and they motivated me a little. So here I am sharing my journey as I write my novel too.

Time is a big issue for me at the moment. Not only have I got my freelance work, my family, my blog to contend with but trying to fit in writing a novel round that is a tight squeeze. I’m finding it especially hard to manage anything at the moment due to it being both summer holidays and Steve’s busiest time at work except for Christmas. This means I am left to entertain a three year old everyday for 6 weeks, mostly without Steve as he will be working nearly every single day this month!

I’m trying to set aside some time once a week during the month of August to try and collate my notes into words on the page. I know where I want the story to go, I know what I want to do. It is just the sitting down and doing it.

But I’m Rebecca, a wannabe writer (in the author sense, I’m already a freelance writer!) and I will get this novel written. Hopefully I can bring you along on the journey too.

  1. I’ve got so many unfinished manuscripts. I really hope one day I find the time to actually get one finished.

Wow, you are juggling a lot but I know you can do this. I’ll look forward to reading more updates and finding out how you’re getting along
