Trying Out The New Products From MARS -

We were recently given the opportunity to review some of the brand new products under the MARS brand name. Now it is no secret I am a chocoholic so I was really looking forward to receiving the products and I wasn’t disappointed – just look at what we received below.

We were sent the Galaxy Cookies (£1.30 for 4), Bounty Cookies (£1.30 for 4), Milky Way Magic Stars Mini Cookies (£1 for 10) and the Maltesers Teasers chocolate spread (£2), all available from Tesco.

Having the sweet tooth we all have, it didn’t take us long to crack on with eating the cookies. Jack quickly took ownership of the Magic Stars cookies but I did get to try one. They were very nice but I wouldn’t really say they tasted anything like Magic Stars, in my opinion.

The Galaxy cookies were amazing and indulgent and were quite like Galaxy but the prize for so close to the taste goes to the Bounty cookies. I am aware that the actual chocolate bars do make the cookies but I do think some of the flavour and texture you are used to with the chocolate gets lost in cookie form. Not in Bounty’s case however. If you are a coconut fan, these are definitely for you. So close to the chocolate bar and I was glad that Steve let me have the last one…yummy!

By far the most interesting product though was the Maltesers Teasers chocolate spread. I didn’t know what to expect when I opened it but was greeted with a sight like this:

It is very weird seeing a chocolate spread with little bobbly bits but they have got this down to a tee. It is as if they have melted down a handful of the Teaser bars and packed them all up, ready to sell..this is divine. It is quite difficult to spread – as you may imagine with the little bits – but it tastes great and is a nice little treat every now and again.

Serving suggestions for the cookies – heat in the microwave for 30-40 seconds then place ice cream on top. Not quite cookie dough but just as heavenly. If the cookies aren’t your thing, try some of the chocolate spread dolloped onto some ice cream..super yummy!
