A different post from me today! As it is coming into Autumn, a lot of fantastic telly makes its way onto our screens. I love nothing more than to settle down in front of the TV with Steve and watch some of our favourite shows so thought I’d share them with you today 🙂
American comedy makes up probably 75% of our TV diet – The Big Bang Theory, New Girl and Suburgatory are my picks for the best of the comedies. No need to explain TBBT really but I know New Girl and Suburgatory are suited to certain tastes – even I can admit that I don’t always get the humour in Suburgatory!
The Walking Dead and Revenge are two of the best dramas to come out of the US for a while – I did find myself a little adrift from The Walking Dead in the last season but am going to rewatch this Autumn and see if I feel different. I adore Revenge, I never miss an episode – it still keeps me gripped even after 2 series!
Hollyoaks is my soap pick – I’ve grown up with this soap and I still love it, even if some of the stories are incredibly far fetched and they have far too many storylines going on at once! I get far too emotionally involved in the storylines, the Nancy/Darren/Sienna triangle needs to end NOW.
These two aren’t always on but you will always find me watching repeats – Jonathan Creek and Poirot. Alan Davies is my shouldn’t but would crush and I love the magic/supernatural element that Jonathan Creek gives. Poirot is one of those programmes that keeps me gripped until the very end, even if I do sometimes get annoyed with the writers for straying from the book!
Finally, Doctor Who and Hart Of Dixie. I’m interested to see what Peter Capaldi brings to the role of the Doctor but I am sad to see Matt Smith go. Definitely intrigued to see where this programme goes. Last but not least, HOD is something you all know I love (I even wrote a post on Zoe Hart’s style!). This is such a lovely, gentle and easy going programme and I love the fact that Zoe and Wade are together – for now! I’ve heard rumours of trouble on the horizon (I’m watching UK time so am behind the US) but I really don’t want to know! Haha!

Poirot is my guilty pleasure! I really like Doctor Who, I would say love but compared to my brother I'd look like a fraud saying I love it. He even watches the 1st Doctor 😮

Revenge is the best show ever! I love love love it. The first season was better than the second, but I'm hoping the next season will be good.

New Girl is my new addiction- it's absolutely hilarious! I'm still catching up on Netflix, but I think Jess is the greatest, seconded my Schmidt and his neurotic tendencies. Also, a really nice veteran blogger explained to me that people don't actually see your comment replies if you reply by the built in Blogger thing, because there is no notification email. They'll get a reply if you email them back from the email notification.

I love Revenge, it's like Dallas in The Hamptons! I love The Walking Dead, Poirot (love the clothes) and Doctor Who too. My other top tv programmes are Supernatural and Nashville.

Agreed! Season 2 wasn't as great as Season 1 IMHO, but I am hoping 3 is spectacular!

I enjoyed Revenge but my fave show has to be Game Of Thrones.So addicted that when season three ended I just had to start reading the books its based on.Taking a couple on hols…..:)

I agree with about half of your reviews. I love The Walking Dead and Big Bang Theory, and can't wait to start watching Dr. Who. Then again, I'm all-American, so BBC isn't my first choice. Guess I'm missing out! #pastandpresent
