I was recently tagged by Sam from Stressed Mum to participate in The Highs and Lows of 2019 tag – you can read her post here. I don’t take part in many tags but if they interest me, I love to give them a go. So here are my answers… what are yours?
1. What was your happiest event?
I don’t know, to be honest. We had quite a few happy times but I think our first summer holiday as the four of us was probably the happiest. We needed the time to chill out and relax and just enjoy spending time together.
2. What was the saddest thing to happen?
I didn’t really have anything sad happen personally to me but 2019 saw the deaths of some special people in our lives and also some friends receiving horrendous news.
3. What was the most unlikely thing to happen that actually went ahead and did?
Arranging, paying for and organising a summer holiday including renewing passports and applying for new ones in under 6 weeks. Somehow we managed it and it went well!
4. Who let you down?
Certain family members but the less I go into that the better.
5. Who supported you?
My immediate family, as always. A select amount of close friends and quite a few blogger pals – I’m lucky to have made friends because of this little space on the internet.
6. Tell us what you learned
I learned that I can say no and that I can do things if I put my mind to it.
7. Tell us what made you laugh
My kids, every day. They do such bonkers things sometimes and really make me chuckle.
8. Tell us the things that made you cry
Things reminding me of my Dad and bad news about my friends.
9. Tell us three things your child or children did to make you feel proud. Please miss this question out if you are not a parent.
Jack – Joined Beavers and really jumped in foot first, even staying away from home for the first time. Did well in his SATS and always had good remarks at Parents Evening. Learnt how to play chess and beat his chess teacher!
Olivia – Continued to grow and learn at Phonics and continued to enjoy herself. Started potty training. Got rid of all of her dummies!
10. Tell us the things that made you proud of yourself
Growing my business and gaining more virtual assistance clients. Working really hard on my sites and also launching new ones.
11. Tell us the challenges you overcame
I stopped thinking poorly of my stuff and started putting myself out there more.
12. Tell us the things you would like to change about your life in 2020.
I’d like to get fit and lose some weight, grow my business some more and be better with my finances.
I tag Lisa from Lisahh-Jayne to complete – and anyone else that wants to!

I enjoy writing these sort of things, I normally do one for new years but I have kind or surpassed that and im now blogging about mindfulness.
Number 10 – Something that has made me proud is landing a PR job a few months ago.
Sounds like you had an up and down year. I know how you feel! Impressed by your holiday making skills though! All that in six weeks? Xx
This is a good way to look back at 2019, it sounds like you had some good learning last year. It is important to say no at times. Here’s to a fab 2020. Mich x
I am going to sit down and do this tomorrow try and get some focus for 2020 and improved physical and mental health
Happy New Year to you. I love reading these kind of tags, and it sounds like you had a pretty good year overall, nice to hear that your business is growing and children are always a great source of amusement! Looking forward to hearing how you get on during 2020
Sounds like a good year for you and it’s so nice to see your kids growing up, it must feel like it’s going pretty quickly for you x
It sounds like 2019 was pretty good to you. How lovely that you managed to enjoy a family holiday – I bet that was a real highlight of the year for you.
Sounds like a rollercoaster of a year , sounds like mine to be honest . Love this . Might pinch the questions for myself 🙂
I think it’s important to look back over the year, thinking about the highs and the lows. That way you can hopefully take the good from the year and move on, whilst leaving the bad in the previous year.
You can’t be let down if you don’t have expectations. That’s something I learned with my family members
Learning to say no is a biggie. So many struggle with this including me, although I am getting better at it. Well done you, I hope you keep it up this year x
I love this tag, it is a good way to reflect on 2019 without having to think too hard about what to share. It is always a shame when family members disappoint you.
What a great way to reflect on a year and well done for organising a holiday so quickly. Sorry also to read about some less good news.
Oooh I think I will join in with this tag as it is a really nice way to reflect on the previous 12 months x
