The Best Places To Visit In Germany

Collaborative Post

A country I have always wanted to travel to but have been unable to as of yet is Germany. It is a country that is fairly close to us, of course, and requires minimal travel time but I just haven’t made it there yet. However that doesn’t mean I am not aware of a few amazing places to visit in the country that are definitely on my list of places to go. Many friends and family have visited and have suggested their favourite destinations.

I’m hoping to visit in the winter if I can, once we have moved house and I have renewed my passport. I’ll beĀ using Ebooking to book my accommodation and hopefully going with a friend. I’ve got an idea of the places I’d like to visit but obviously won’t be able to do all of them on one trip (so I may have to book a few trips instead!)

With that in mind, where exactly are the best places to visit in Germany?

Berlin

Who wouldn’t want to visit the capital city? Berlin has so much to see and do and I would love to see it all for myself. I would. of course, head to the Reichstag, maybe booking in advance to go to the top. I’d also love to take a stroll through Tiergaten and head to Brandenburg Lakes.

Munich

With beautiful buildings that are hundreds of years old, there is so much to see and do in Munich. I’d love to visit the BMW museum and the stunning Nymphenburg Palace – it has beautiful gardens and the most stunning architecture.

Frankfurt

Another city that has always fascinated me, Frankfurt has many fantastic museums to check out as well as many wonderful parks, shopping markets and observation points. I would also love to see the Body of Knowledge monument up close as it looks incredible!

Cologne

Cologne is full of Gothic architecture, something that has always interested me. I’d love to explore the city in more detail and drink in the sights such as these fabulous buildings. The Museum Ludwig is somewhere I’d love to check out, if only to see the artwork which includes pieces by Picasso.

Stuttgart

Known as a manufacturing hub (both Porsche and Mercedes-Benz have headquarters and museums in the city!), this may not be a destination that features heavily on people’s lists but it features on mine! There are plenty of wonderful green spaces to explore as well as one of the largest zoos and botanical gardens in Europe. I’d also love to check out Rosenstein Castle!

These are some of the best places to visit in Germany according to my friends and family who have visited the country. I cannot wait to visit myself and see the country with my own eyes. It is a shame I haven’t had the opportunity to visit yet but I hope to rectify that soon!

Have you ever been to Germany? Where have been your favourite places to visit?

  1. Like you, although I have been to places within countries right next to Germany, I have yet to see anything in Germany as yet. As a huge fan of the outdoors however, I must admit I am more keen to see the beautiful countryside and natural assets the country is known for. Bavaria in particular near the Austrian border is meant to be really beautiful. I really look forward to getting there one day.

I’ve never really considered Germany as a holiday destination. It sounds like there are some great cities to visit there, especially Stuttgart.

  3. I’ve only been to Germany once for a few days. I went to Hamburg, and I loved it – the food and drink scene was excellent.

I’ve been to Nuremberg before, but that was just for a festival so I didn’t see the place much. And I’ve been to Berlin once and it was lovely so I’d love to go back, but also experience and see more of the places in the country x

  5. I have been to Germany several times and I will be going again next week. For me, Berlin wasn’t that impressive. I didn’t really like it. I do love Hamburg though, it is such a vibrant city with so many different things to do.

  6. I’ve heard that Berlin is absolutely beautiful! I have a boss who lives in Stuttgart, and she posts so many gorgeous photos!
