I’m sure the majority of us have heard of Sue Ryder.
Most high streets boast a Sue Ryder charity shop but did any of you know that Sue Ryder also have an online shop selling new goods rather than donated? All profits from the online shop go straight to the charity and there are some fantastic items to choose from. Sue Ryder are a really amazing charity who provide incredible care to those who are facing a terrifying and life changing diagnosis and their loved ones. This includes caring for people in hospices and neurological centres across the UK, caring for those in the community and caring for people in countries like Malawi and Albania where health care is nowhere near as accessible as it is here.
The Sue Ryder online shop currently boasts some amazing children’s homeware and we were kindly gifted the Children’s Blue Star Tub Chair (£39.99). Jack is always asking for a children’s armchair when out so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to see if he liked it. It arrived really quickly and what I loved most was that it was sent fully assembled – I had flashes of me trying to put an armchair together and getting really stressed out – so we were off to a great start with it. For the first 24 hours, Jack refused to move out of it except to eat, sleep and go to the toilet. He did everything on it – watched TV, played with his teddies and toys, watched Kinder egg videos on the iPad. Everything. In fact, I’ve barely got him out of it since!
Best suited to children over 18 months (which Jack definitely is). the chair has rounded arms features rubber stoppers at the base for more stability – essential when you have a very active and often quite clumsy child! It’s not just him that has been enjoying the chair though, he frequently piles his teddies up on it too…
The star detail is fab and this armchair would be perfect for boys or girls and make a great addition to either their bedrooms or the living room. The fabric feels great, not cheap and I am definitely impressed. I am considering picking up the matching storage cube as Jack really adores this armchair and has been telling all of his friends about it. It is great to learn that Sue Ryder have an online shop for new items, I would never have known otherwise. I will definitely be checking the website when wanting to add to some more homeware to our household.
