I was sent the Book Lovers Journal for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
One of my abiding memories of my childhood is visiting my great uncle Bernard and seeing his massive collection of books. He knew how much of a bookworm I was and pulled out his journals which detailed every book he had ever read and what he thought of them. There were many tomes, he had read many books over the years and I was in awe of how organised he was. I always aimed to do the same but life got in the way and eventually I found Goodreads online and started logging my reads there.
I always aimed to start noting them down with proper pen and paper once again so when Lucy from Stationery Geek got in contact and asked if I would like to review their Book Lovers Journal, you can just imagine how excited I was! I love stationery and the website has everything you could possibly want – journals, planners, scrapbooks, reward charts and so much more.
Retailing at £7.49, the Book Lovers Journal (available to buy here) is available in A5 or A4 size and has various different sections for you to fill in. The design is super cute with green and pink colours on the cover. I have the A5 size which is perfect to fit in my handbag.
The first sections are genres and wishlists. Here you can circle your favourite genres and note down those books you really wish to read but perhaps haven’t got the funds for right now. I don’t know about you but I always have a ton of books on my wishlist!
I love that there is a section for favourite authors – I think this is a great way to recognise the work of some people you idolise. I’ve already added Agatha Christie and J.K Rowling to mine!
The final section is the Read & Reviewed section which accounts for most of the journal so you have plenty of space to note down your reads. Not only can you add the expected title, author and star rating but you can also mention what genre it is, your favourite quote and any notes you may have about it. I don’t always have notes with books I am reading but occasionally do so it is nice to have the space to add them if I want to.
I am very impressed with this Book Lovers Journal and am having great fun noting down my reads. I actually took this away to Cyprus (expecting to read lots but only managed two books because we were so busy!) and it was great to be able to note down my thoughts whilst the books were still fresh in my mind.
I’m considering buying a couple of these for my book loving friends but I have also been looking at the different things available on the website – being a stationery lover, I might have to invest in a few bits!

I am a sucker for new stationary and this one looks amazing! I have never seen a book lovers journal before but what a lovely idea. This looks like it would also make a fantastic gift for anyone who loves to read too!

This is such a nice little journal for any book worms. I use my goodreads to make notes and keep a list of all the books I want to read x

oooh I love this, whilst I don’t read half as many books as I should I love the idea of jotting down favourite quotes etc.
Such a great journal, this! I am trying to read more books these days. We’ve just moved into a new house and we’ve not got television, so more books are definitely well… on the books! 🙂
