We were sent Squeakee Minis items for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
I had been seeing the Squeakee Minis around quite a lot when I was kindly asked to review them. You can’t have missed the adverts for them on things like YouTube and my daughter Olivia certainly didn’t miss them. She was eager to get one and was so happy when Poppy turned up from the new range of Squeakee Minis.
There are three to collect in the range – Heelie, Poppy and Billo and we received Poppy. These are £9.99 each and are great to collect – plus make wonderful gifts for the children in your life. They are available from Smyths and came about due to the success of Squeakee the Balloon dog which happened to be one of 2020’s hottest Christmas toys!
The Squeakee Minis have a range of features and Olivia has been loving getting to grips with these.
First of all, you can get it to repeat what you say in a helium style voice. All you do is press in Poppy’s nose and speak and then release and she will repeat it back to you. If you press the nose again without holding it to speak, it will repeat the previous thing you have recorded until you, of course, record a new one.
This was perhaps one of Olivia’s favourite things to do with Poppy!
You can also pat it and it will squeak – the more you pat it and stroke it, the more it responds – much like your pet would do if you were to carry on stroking it. Olivia had a lot of fun patting it and seeing how much she could get it to respond.
Another feature to be aware of is the popping feature!
All you need to do is blow onto their nose and they will inflate – before going POP! You hear the Mini inflate and inflate and inflate until it can take no more then you hear the POP! bang as the balloon bursts!
It took Olivia a few tries but she finally got the hang of it – and for ages after she managed to do it for the first time, I kept hearing her blowing then a big POP! as she managed to get Poppy to pop!
Olivia has really enjoyed playing with Poppy and is keen to get the other Squeakee Minis in the range, Heelie and Billo. As a parent, I am very impressed with these. They’re affordable – sometimes you find collectable toys to be quite expensive which makes it difficult to collect them all.
They also have a wonderful range of features that will keep children entertained for ages and the fun is totally innocent too. It is a really great toy and I can see this being very popular, much like Squeakee the Balloon was last year.
