Review | Tommee Tippee Closer To Nature Special Edition Essentials Kit

Item sent for the purpose of review. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

I haven’t spoken much yet about my feeding journey with Olivia – it is something I plan to write about in the coming weeks – but I always knew there would be a chance that she wouldn’t be exclusively breastfed and may be taking expressed milk or formula. Knowing this could be the case I of course needed a steriliser, bottles and all the other equipment that comes with it. I was actually asked if I would like to review the Tommee Tippee Closer To Nature Special Edition Essentials Kit (I have the set in black but you can find the white edition for £54.99 on Amazon here). I of course said yes as I have always had positive experiences with Tommee Tippee as a brand and I was hopeful that I would not be disappointed with this set.

The set contains an electric steriliser, an electric bottle warmer, two insulated bottle bags, 4 150ml/5floz bottles, 4 260ml/9floz bottles, a bottle brush, 6 milk powder dispensers, 2 medium flow teats 3m+, 1 soother and some teat tongs. Basically everything you could possibly need to start your feeding journey.

The steriliser has been used multiple times a day since it arrived and it truly has been a lifesaver. It has been great for sterilising Olivia’s soothers when required, my breast pump and bottles if I happen to be expressing and the bottles and formula dispensers if I happen to be using formula. You can sterilise up to six bottles at a time, very handy – my old steriliser could only fit in a few at a time.

Finding bottles and teats that your baby takes to can be a lengthy and stressful business but we have been quite lucky with Olivia – she loves these bottles and teats. We tend to use the smaller bottles (150ml) for expressed feeds and for small formula top ups if she is still quite hungry (I am combination feeding but mostly breastfeeding – I take my cues from Olivia) and then the larger bottles if she is to have a larger formula feed. We used the larger bottles on the day of my Dad’s funeral so that she could still be fed whilst I was away from her and we have been using the insulated bottle bags in recent weeks if we know we are going to be out of the house for quite a long time. I breastfeed as and whenever possible but if I possibly can’t we always make sure to have a bottle of hot water in one of the bottle bags with us as well as some formula in one of the dispensers – they are so incredibly handy!

This kit has so far been invaluable to us and whilst we still haven’t used every item in it due to not having the need to, we are very very impressed. The steriliser, bottles and soothers get used on a daily basis and are certainly impressive – the steriliser sterilises everything in a matter of minutes and Olivia seems content with both the bottles and the soothers.

The insulated bottle bags and milk powder dispensers have proved super handy when it comes to being out and about or if I happen to be leaving Olivia with Steve.

If you’re looking for the perfect gift for some parents to be that you know, consider this. Not only is it super value but the products are fantastic and will be used on an extremely regular basis. I have been singing the kits praises to all my family and friends as it has made the world of difference to us and our feeding journey – it has made it so much easier.
