It’s sure been a while since I popped in with my pregnancy diaries. The week before I went away was week 27 and was so hectic that I forgot to post. I meant to post week 27&28 together whilst I was away but the WiFi they claimed was good was absolutely awful and week 29 was spent poorly. So I’m here rounding up the past few weeks in one simple post.
Simply put, weeks 27-29 were pretty boring. I had my flu jab and whooping cough jab in week 27, my arms were sore but no other problems. Week 28 saw me put a lot of weight on (instead of my consistent 1lb a week as I have been gaining throughout pregnancy) due to being on holiday and enjoying myself. Week 29 saw me seeing the midwife. I had my first (and only!) Anti-D injection (I have rhesus negative blood) and she also took some bloods – one to test my blood sugar or iron levels (I can’t actually remember which) and one which was to determine my blood type or something – which surely they already know! She knows best though after all.
My midwife was also a little annoyed with the consultant I am seeing for the whole SGA thing. Whilst the consultant said he is pretty sure baby girl isn’t SGA and Jack wasn’t either, he still wanted to book me in for the scans to be on the safe side. Only problem was when my midwife checked my notes, she realised my scans were at 34 and 38 weeks. The consultant actually put the policy in place that anyone suspected of having an SGA baby should have a scan at 28, 32 and 36 weeks –Â he wasn’t following his own policy! So she booked me in for a growth scan this week (week 30) to be sure – although I should have had one two weeks ago (although that would have been impossible as I was away, obviously). She measured my bump to check and said she believed baby was growing just right and was in the middle of the two lines on the graph. I also got to hear baby girl’s heartbeat again and she even gave the midwife a kick for good measure.
This week itself has been quite busy. I did suffer a lot with heartburn last week and started getting Braxton Hicks and this has continued into this week. I am definitely starting to feel more exhausted as I come into the final stretch of this pregnancy. I weighed in on Tuesday as I’m still determined to keep an eye on my weight gain and I’ve gone back to my 1lb a week gain which I am happy with. Knowing where I stand as I progress through this pregnancy means I know how much I have to lose once baby girl is born – hopefully the breastfeeding will help with that!
I went for the growth scan yesterday that the midwife booked in last week and all was well. We got to see baby girl wriggling away and the sonographer said she was growing nicely. She’s still bang in the middle of the two lines so that’s fab and the sonographer also went off to work out baby girl’s current weight. She is currently weighing in at just over 3lbs so I definitely think she will be heavier than her big brother when she’s born – Jack was born at almost 42 weeks at 7lbs 3/4 of an oz. Baby girl has 10 weeks until full term and if she goes overdue, who knows how much she’ll weigh?
This weekend is going to be spent sorting out through Jack’s old baby clothes ready for charity shop and sorting out baby girl’s stuff properly. Both Jenna and I have got to the point where we want everything sorted so I’ll probably be AWOL all weekend whilst I sort everything.
Here’s to week 31 – wonder what it will bring!

Aw, it’s good to know baby girl is growing nicely, bet it was nice to see her wriggling around xo
I still cannot believe there is only 10 weeks left, as I told you, I almost checked the dates because I am not convinced you are 30 weeks!
I remember the heartburn. I do not envy you – it’s awful. My wee boy is 4 now!
Aww lovely to know ur baby girl is growing well and healthy.
Aw after having 6 children I love to read others journeys as it brings back so many happy memories
I love how you have documented your pregnancy, what a wonderful idea xx
I love that you’re blogging about your pregnancy – I have not been through it and doubt I will but it’s lovely to see a real account 🙂 I bet you’re excited for the next 10 weeks to be over and you welcome your bundle of joy in to the world!
Great to read your latest update. Scans were always so exciting for us before our kids were born. Always seemed like there was too much to do and the last 10 weeks flew by. You’ll be thankful for getting things done as early as possible.
Aww I am so pleased everything is going OK though that heart burn needs to take a walk! BG keep up the bouncy bouncy spin spin 😉 !
so beautiful to see her wriggling in there and that everything is going well. hoping for a smooth last 10 weeks 🙂
Exciting times! It’s these weeks where everything starts to get a bit more ‘real’ and imminent, if I remember correctly. The weeks where I remember enjoying being pregnant before it started getting really uncomfortable! hah!
It’s good to know everything seems to be progressing well. Here’s hoping she isn’t too much bigger than Jack when she’s born though x
I can’t believe how quickly your pregnancy is flashing by, it really does feel like last month you said you were having her! It’s so good she’s growing nicely, I suffered with heartburn so badly with Panga so I feel your pain on the heartburn front xx
I had heartburn with all 3 of my children so I know what you mean about heartburn. I wish I documented my pregnancies
I love that you are making this diary, will be a very nice thing to look back when your baby girl is older :). BTW, glad everything is going fine 🙂
Glad to hear that the little one is growing nicely. Hope the heartburn dies down it can be hard to cope with sometimes x
Seems to be going relativity smoothly, hope your heartburn eases xx good luck with the next couple of weeks! xx
Thanks for sharing. This is really interesting and glad to hear all is going well. Exciting times!
Everything seems to be moving on well! Not long until she’s here really.
Oh wow, I didn’t realise you were this far along Rebecca! It only seems like 2 mins since you announced it on Facebook 🙂
Wishing you the very best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy x
