Wow, it has been a long time since I’ve done one of these posts! This is probably why there is quite a lot in the pictures this month – I’m awful for remembering to do them, but seeing Sandra’s & Sophia’s empties each month, I’ve been inspired to finish up as much as I possibly can!
I used up three makeup products this month but one isn’t pictured as Jack threw the empty casing somewhere – the product missing is the Nivea Sun Protect Lip Balm – I have so many lip products so for me to actually finish one is quite an achievement. I also finished up my ELF Eyelid Primer in shade champagne. I love this product, it was recommended to me by the wonderful Charli and I just adore it so much! I will be repurchasing but I have a few others I want to try out before I do so. The last makeup product I tried was a sample of the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 foundation. I wasn’t impressed. However, I know it was just a sample so I’ll never say never.
Skincare
Three products in this category too! First up was the Beauty Formulas Anti-Age Care Night Cream. I picked this up ages ago from either a 99p shop or a Poundland. It wasn’t great but it didn’t break me out; to be honest, I was just extremely glad to see it go. Next up, the Rio Rosa Anti-Ageing Day & Night Cream. This was my second pot of this (find a review of my first pot here). I really do think the world of this. Again, this is something I will repurchase – but only once I’ve finished up everything else in my collection. Lastly, the Klair’s Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask. This was an extra in my Wishtrend package when they sent me my snail cream product for review – I wasn’t expecting any extras but there was a great abundance of them!! This was just one and it felt great. I am really getting into masks recently and am definitely thinking about giving this another try soon.
Body Care
The first product is the rather unattractive bottle to the left – this used to be a very pretty bottle until I dropped it in the bath and all the writing smudged – oh dear! This was from part of a limited edition collection by Funk Off, a cool, independent Etsy brand. I had seen that they were doing a few products inspired by the gorgeous Kaelah from Little Chief Honeybee and slightly fangirling, I put in an order for a couple of the products. The great thing with their blogger inspired products is that they donate most of the proceeds to the blogger’s favourite charity – how nice is that? This smelt great and felt amazing – it is a pity it was limited edition.
Next up (and rather unglamourous) is the Tesco Everyday Value Cream handwash. It may only be 38p but it smells nice and does the job, so it has become a staple in both the bathroom and the kitchen. I also finished up a bath cream, the Imperial Leather Soft Touch bath cream. As bath creams go, this was alright – not sure whether I’d repurchase or not though. A staple in my empties, it seems, is my Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter. This mini was given to me by a friend and you all know I love it, so I won’t go on! Lastly, there is the Chocolate & Cream soap from the Pamper & Preen Etsy shop. Unfortunately, they are closing down – so as much as I’d love to repurchase this divine product, I simply can’t!
Haircare
Something you should know about me is that I seem to finish off shampoos long before conditioners – hence the L’Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss Shine Shampoo. Simply put, I love this. Everytime I use it, people ask me if I’ve had something new done to my hair. LOVE. Another product, which is an empties staple for most it seems, is a Batiste Dry Shampoo, this time the one for medium and brunettes. This took me a while to get through but I do like it and will repurchase at some point. I am currently trying out other products in the range first though.
Deodorants/Body Sprays
An Impulse body spray is not a rare sight in my collection; they are just so cheap, quick and easy to buy and pop in your handbag. This scent, Into Glamour, is nice and refreshing – not my favourite from the range though. The other spray is actually Steve’s – but I am well known for stealing his sprays at times (including this one!). This is the Champneys For Men Energising Anti Perspirant Deodorant. I loved this on Steve and loved the scent myself – I’m currently trying to persuade him to repurchase!
The boring stuff…
I wasn’t sure whether to include these, but hey, a gleaming white smile must be relevant to beauty, right?
These three (the Colgate Total, Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief and Colgate Cavity Protection) all do the job expected and are probably going to repurchased at some point. However, I seem to be receiving free samples of toothpaste from Colgate and Aquafresh on a regular basis now (I applied once as who doesn’t love a freebie?) and they just keep coming. I’m not complaining though, have you seen the price of toothpaste these days?
Have you written an empties post? I’d love to read it!
