My Health & Fitness Goals For 2015

I am not a big fan of exercise, I am not fit. That being said I need to make more of an effort in that department – I need to shed some pounds and tone up. Ever since having Jack, I’ve put weight on not lost it. I look back at pictures of myself from just a couple of years ago and want to go back to looking like that. Not too big, not too small – the perfect size for me. I want to lose a couple of stone and get a little fitter if I can, nothing too drastic.

Legal & General have asked me to share my fitness and health resolutions for 2015 with you all in an effort to promote healthy living – it is something that has been playing on my mind for quite some time and perhaps 2015 is my year for living more healthily. So how will I do it?

MEAL PLAN
All too often I just cobble together some items from the fridge, freezer or cupboards. I am certain that I am getting nowhere near as much fruit and veg as I should be and probably far too much fat, sugar and carbs. Not only will meal planning enable me to plan out healthier meals, it will also be easier on the budget too.

EXERCISE
I don’t need to do it every day but I want to start exercising a little more. We have an exercise bike so I’m hoping to start off with that a few times a week plus my usual walking. I may invest in a fitness DVD too.

USE IT UP
There are a number of things that Steve and Jack don’t like that I just don’t buy anymore, If I am buying them for myself I generally have to waste some as I can’t get round to eating it in time. I need to start finding ways to incorporate it back into my routine and use it up in time. Steve and Jack hate spinach but I love it – I never use it up in time though. I’m going to start getting it and making smoothies with it instead.

BE PREPARED
I recently watched a Youtuber who prepares her ‘smoothie’ bags and snack bags in advance. When she fancies a smoothie in the morning, she just chooses the combination she wants and makes it. Saves time and gets the smoothie to you faster.

STOP MAKING EXCUSES
This is the big one. I’m always making excuses. Excuses to put off housework, to not leave the house unless absolutely necessary, to not exercise… I’ve been much more active since the beginning of this year and I would like that to continue. That being said…if you see me being lazy, tell me off!

  1. Girlfriend, you know if you need a fitness DVD, I've got plenty for you to choose from! 😉
And that Nutribullet is going to change your life – I love love love mine.

  2. Good luck with your healthy goals. I'm currently sat here drinking a beetroot based nutribullet juice! Its actually quite nice! Trying to drink one different one a day, at the very least i'll be filling up on more veg rather than chocolate!! #brilliantblogposts

  3. Making excuses is a biggie to get over. So easy to do, but actually, once you've got your foot out of the metaphorical door, it is easy to engage in whatever it was you were procrastinating.

Using things up is so important, and something we've started doing more of lately. Vegetables are often seen as less valuable as other items, and get chucked. They are full of vitamins and roughage, and are great blended up in smoothies or soups. Vegetarianism is the way forward, I say!

Exercise is the one thing I used to do, and the one thing that I don't make time for now. I have lost of lot of weight in the last 8 months or so, largely down to moderating my eating habits, but really must begin exercising for my heart health.
