I had a bit of a reading slump recently but I seem to have got my mojo back and am now flying through them again. Here’s books 26-30 of my reading challenge – I somehow don’t think I am going to make the 80 unless I don’t stop reading at all!
Out of Office: Ditch The 9-5 and Be Your Own Boss by Fiona Thomas – 5/5 (Copy sent for review)

Miss Smith Commits the Perfect Crime by Guy Rolands – 4/5 (ARC sent for review)
How could I not read this when the title mentions my name, eh? I was invited onto the blog tour for this and I’m glad I agreed because this was an interesting read. The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman – 3/5 (ARC sent for review)
I really wanted to love this and I think that was the problem – I like Richard Osman so much that I went in with unreservedly high expectations and they fell short. I seem to be on the unpopular side of things though as I have mostly seen positive 4 and 5 star reviews so maybe I just didn’t get it.
I struggled to even word my review for Netgalley but I thought I’d share it here so you can see what I thought:
Knowing the author from his TV show and loving his personality, I was intrigued to see how his debut novel faired. I enjoyed the plot of this book but felt the storyline dragged a little in places and I got a little confused at times as to had done what and who was who.
I didn’t see the ending coming so loved how the story was tied up neatly but I would have loved the story to have had a little more oomph at times as I found myself finding it a little slow before ramping up the pace and then slowing right down again.

What She Saw by Diane Saxon – 4/5 (ARC sent for review)
I loved this book although it wasn’t my favourite that I’ve read by her. You can read my full review here. I loved seeing Jenna and Mason’s working relationship especially now with the added dimension of him dating her sister plus I loved the reappearance of Domino, her dalmatian, being the proud owner of one myself. Adulting As A Millennial: A Guide to Everything Your Parents Didn’t Teach You by Asha Tarry – 4/5 (Copy sent for review)
After a few fiction books, I jumped straight back into this non fiction from Asha Tarry. I reviewed it in full here but I basically said that if you’re looking for a little reminder of how you can thrive whilst adulting as a millennial, then this book serves as an awesome brief guide to this. As you can see I’ve had a lot of review books recently and I’ve got a few more coming up but I am glad to have a little break so I can catch up with some of the many books on my TBR! What have you been reading lately?
I love the sound of the Out of Office book, I will have to look at getting a copy. I am into real life things at the moment so will also check our Adulting as a Millennial
That first book sounds really interesting. I don’t blame freelancers for ditching the 9-5 but maybe companies should start ditching it too… Flexible working for everyone has got to be the future!
The first book sound like a good read. I have set myself a goal to read 50 books this year, and just reached it last week. So I am very happy.
These sound like a great selection of books. I have not read any of them but I am broadening my reading horizons with every new book I buy. Long gone are the days of Chick lit for me.

I love to read so I enjoy learning about authors and titles that I’m not familiar with. My Mom and I enjoy mystery so Miss Smith might be a good choice for us.
Adulting as a millenial sounds like exactly the kind of book I need to read! I’ve not read as much over the past few months due to being fresh in the house but we’re going away at the start of November so I hope to read more then x

Okay, so I definitely need to check out Adulting as a Millennial. I think that would be right up my street. I’m so far behind on my Good Reads challenge that I’m fairly sure I won’t complete it, but there’s no harm in trying. It’s just so hard to find the time at the moment!
I have created a reading list for over the next few months and I cant wait to start.
