As a mother, you have a lot of responsibilities, and you are busy. You have to ensure that everybody is well and their needs tended to every day, you might lack time to look after yourself. It makes you feel exhausted and want some time for yourself and maybe even pamper yourself.
Here are a few suggestions on how to set up the perfect me time to pamper yourself at home.
Start with a Facial
Start off with exfoliating your face to remove dead skin cells and excess oil. Exfoliating is a crucial step in a skincare routing, as it helps improve skin texture, appearance and promotes good circulation. You can choose between a chemical exfoliation using acids such as AHAs, BHAs or a mechanical exfoliation by using a traditional physical scrub, like the Blue Lagoon lava scrub for example.
After exfoliating it is absolutely necessary to nourish the skin. This means feeding your skin to prevent dehydration and dryness. This will give your skin the nourishment is needs to renew itself, protect and strengthen the skin barrier. Aside from moisturizers, you can nourish your skin by getting adequate sleep- which, as a mother, is not always easy! The work you do as a mother takes a toll on you, so good rest is important when you can.
To complete the facial, apply a face mask to give your face an extra treat!
Soak in a Luxurious Bath
This helps in relaxing to relieve yourself from stress. You can make a luxurious bath by setting the mood and establishing a relaxing atmosphere that is calming and peaceful. Lighting candles and scattering them around the bathroom is a good start. Some background music can also help set the mood and give you that spa like vibe. A glass of wine or some energizing juice to sip on while having a bath is a must.
While drawing the bath, add in some bath salts to relieve painful muscles. They soften the water in the bath and impart a calming scent to it. Also add some soap to make a few bubbles. You can relax more quickly if you diffuse essential oils like rose, iris, jasmine, and lavender in the air. You can even add a few drops of essential oil to the bath water.
Moisturise your body
Do not let a poor robe ruin your warm, luxurious bath when you are through. Try using fluffy, soft towels. After that, use a quality vegan body moisturiser and let yourself dry. Even body oils are a great choice.

Do a Hair Treatment
Looking after your hair is a way of pampering yourself. Try doing a DIY hair mask with avocado for example. The avocado fruit contains minerals, saturated fats, vitamins A and E, and other nutrients that nourish dry, damaged hair and helps to hydrate and strengthen it. Take a ripe, peeled avocado, and one egg, mash them together to make a paste. Then apply to wet hair and leave on for 20 minutes. After that, rinse the hair several times.
Give Yourself a Manicure
As a mother, you do not have enough time to visit a salon, so doing your manicure at home helps you to save time. Here are tips you can use to do a manicure at home!
- Use nail polish remover to clean your nails
- Trim, file, and buff your nails
