I’m back with yet about meal planning post. Meal planning definitely seems to be working for us – we are using up items in the freezer and cupboard but we are also eating much healthier meals. Last week we did end up a little off kilter as we were a bit naughty – a friend came round for movie night one evening and bought us takeaway plus we also bought a McDonalds the day Steve got paid (always required when it is next to Tesco after a long shop round the many aisles).
I also made toad in the hole from scratch for the first time ever. I’m not really a big fan of toad in the hole but the boys are so I made it – and they really liked it and have asked for it again. I would call that a success!
Here is whats on the list this week:
As you can see, yesterday was anything goes – Steve got pulled in for a night shift rather than a day shift. Jack wanted pizza so he had a small one from the Co-Op and I had some lemon + thyme flavoured fish I had in the freezer.
Tonight is slow cooker beef – this is literally beef with a load of ingredients added in, I usually decide as I am going along!
Tuesday is southern fried chicken steaks, chips and peas – a popular choice for our family.
Wednesday is pasta bake, of course. Can’t go a week without a pasta bake – not sure whether it will be a sausage one again this week though.
Thursday is toad in the hole as they want it again – may as well give the masses what they want.
Friday will be chicken korma as I didn’t manage to have it last week.
Finally Saturday will be an anything goes day as I will be in London some of the day with Emma for the Show Me The Money Bloggers meetup/awards! It is going to be good and she’s up for a couple of awards. Wish her luck!
Do you like meal planning? What is on your plan for the week?
