Just4Kidz Forest Friends Childrens Armchair | Review

We were sent an item from the Just4Kidz range for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

We are all about comfort in our house. We chose our current sofa based on how comfortable it was and if we were to buy another in the future, comfort levels would be the main priority. Whilst the kids love sitting on the sofa, nothing beats having your own seat, right?

We were recently offered the chance to review a product from the Just4Kidz range. The brand have a selection of fantastic products including bean bags, a bed in a bag and various styles of chair. After much deliberation with both Olivia and Jack, we opted for one of their luxury children’s loose cover chairs, choosing the Forest Friends design.

These loose cover chairs retail at £119 and use fabrics that are exclusive to Just4Kidz. There are a variety of different fabrics to choose from so every child is bound to find a design that they like. What I like about these chairs is that they’re also fully made in the UK (it is great to be able to support UK businesses) and they use a solid wooden frame construction that will last for years, meaning that the chair is durable and able to withstand the trials and tribulations that a child may put it through.

The Just4Kidz Loose Cover Chair is one of the brand’s favourites from the range and the design was the first item that they ever made so it certainly holds some special meaning.  What I find truly incredible and heartening is that they’ve even had families who’ve brought their chair back to the brand after a decade and all it has needed is new upholstery – how impressive is that!

Now I don’t know about you but I am rubbish at DIY and putting things together so I was very appreciative when this turned up fully assembled – I thanked my lucky stars. It is important to remember, however, that because it does come fully assembled, it would be wise to be in to accept the parcel as it would be too large to leave in a safe space if you are not in.

The armchair comes with a foam seat cushion and fibre back cushion which can easily be removed. The lining of the chair is also flame retardant so that the cover can be removed and hand washed (not machine washed) and ironed before being popped back on. There are also replacement covers available if yours are a little worse for wear – certainly possible when children are around with stains and spills!

The Forest Friends design is purple with different cute animals – owls, bunny rabbits, deer, foxes and hedgehogs. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and well crafted and the colours work well on the purple background. As you can imagine, the chair is quite heavy as it is a bit of furniture. It weighs 12.1kg so I’d suggest only an adult moving it.

So what do my children think of it? Well, Olivia very quickly claimed the chair as hers although Jack has been sneaking some time in it as well. It seems to be very comfortable for her – not only has she sat ‘the normal way’ but she also leans her head on one arm and puts her feet up on the other, watching her tablet without complaints. It seems whichever way you choose to sit, you are guaranteed maximum comfort. They both absolutely love the design too, pointing out the different animals that they can see.

Space wise, it does take up quite a bit of space as any armchair would so it is important to consider where you will be putting it. It would make a fantastic addition to any living room or even a child’s bedroom but if you are limited on space, it may make more sense to have a little move around before adding this to your furniture. We have quite a small living room and a large sofa already so we recently turned our living room around to give us more space and still be able to have the children’s chairs in as well.

Overall, this has been a fantastic addition to our household and will certainly be coming with us when we move house – although it might end up in the kid’s bedrooms instead if they’re large enough so they can chill out and watch TV or read upstairs.

I’ve been taking a look at the other items Just4Kidz have to offer and I’m in love – I’m currently sorting through the kids toys so may invest in a couple of their beautiful toy boxes in the future for better storage.

What is your favourite item from the Just4Kidz range?

  1. Such a lovely armchair. The baby is growing so he started wanted to sit on the sofa, but an armchair would be much better for his little legs!

  2. My youngest son had a chair that size when he was younger and literally wore it out he loved it so much. My niece would love this, the pattern is pretty.
