It might seem as though if you work from home, your house is always going to be sparkling clean – after all, you’re there, aren’t you? So you can get the housework done without any worries, ensuring that you live (and work) in a dust-free, dirtless, perfect home.
If you are a remote worker, you’ll know that’s not how it happens. In fact, it can often feel as though doing the housework is a step too far, especially after a long day of work and meetings. Who wants to step out of their home office and immediately start cleaning? Not many people, that’s for sure – especially when you consider that home working is meant to improve the work-life balance.
Despite this, the good news is there are ways to have a clean house even when you do work from home – read on to find out what they are so you can enjoy the space you live in even more.

Have A Cleaning Routine
Sadly, we’re not going to tell you that you can wave a magic wand, and your cleaning will be done, but if you can create a good cleaning routine, you’ll definitely make things easier for yourself.
One thing that people often make a mistake with is trying to do all their housework on one day. That doesn’t work so well because housework isn’t all that interesting, and doing a lot of it all at once is boring, so it’s easy to get distracted. Plus, that one day is often at the weekend, so by the time you get there, you’ll have other things to do – or you’ll want to have a rest.
It’s better to make a cleaning routine that focuses on one area each day. It will take you less time, but the results will be the same, and if you can make it a habit, your home will always be clean and tidy. One day could be cleaning the bathroom, another could be the kitchen, then you could do dusting, and on a different day, vacuuming, and so on. Try it and see the difference.
Have The Right Equipment
It’s so easy to tell yourself you’ll do something another time when you realise you don’t have the right equipment to do it, but that kind of procrastination just leads to the job never actually getting done at all.
Before you begin, make a list of all the equipment you’ll need, from a floor scrubber to a duster, as well as all the cleaning products and chemicals you might want to use. If you’ve got everything in place, you can easily get the work done without putting anything off, which only leads to the job getting bigger and more difficult to tackle.
Get A Cleaner
Yes, we did say at the start that we weren’t going to offer you a magic wand to wave to get your cleaning done, but we can offer an idea that’s very similar; hire a professional cleaner. Although it’s going to cost you money, the fact is that having a cleaner when you’re busy and just don’t have the time to keep your house clean and tidy on top of everything else you have to do is a perfect solution – and it’s something that a lot of people choose to do.
Make sure the cleaner you choose has the equipment and tools you would expect them to have, and check out their references before you hire them – you need to know they’re going to do a good job and be value for money.
