There’s a myth that goes along the lines of “high quality fashion is out of reach for most people”. That’s all it is. A myth. An urban legend told by the office narcissist to make herself feel better about her designer knock-off sunglasses. She hopes no one will notice that her sunglasses aren’t what they seem. It never occurs to her that she’s on the same pay scale as the rest of the office. The jealousy serves to turn her green when the office junior walks in with the latest must-have designer handbag. She shouts “fake” while tucking her sunglasses away, that’s if they haven’t broken already.
Ditch the High Street
Physical brick and mortar shops cost money to run. These costs are then passed onto the consumer in the form of jacked up prices, like steroids for the tag. An online shop cuts out rents right there. The webstore of a High Street chain can’t do that. It’ll still have the same high prices as in-store. Anything on sale is going to be last season’s must-have. Chances are it is a ridiculous bleep in fashion history and best forgotten about instead of something in a classic, timeless style. Last season’s fashion mistakes don’t make an excellent impression and will supply the office narcissist with gossip fodder.
A Name You Can Trust
Websites of brick and mortar shops aren’t going to save consumers any money, regardless of how trustworthy the brand is. A shop that operates solely online will be able to pass savings in rent and other running costs of a physical location onto the consumer. Some websites have a reputation for selling fakes and can be avoided.
Don’t Sacrifice Style
We’re all haunted by the ghosts of fashion of years past. 50 per cent off may seem like a good idea, but it won’t when you’re the only one wearing whatever the in item was last season. You can check out Hush Style for affordable designer clothing. Those bleeps in fashion history are best forgotten, not offered at a discount to glare in the face of anyone who wore them and forgot to take the selfies off social media. Some online retailers will try to pass off last season’s trends as this season’s. A reputable online retailer will not do this.
Team Work
Look for a customer service phone number, even if you hate speaking on the phone and have no intention of using it. It’ll also have office hours next to it so customers can phone with any enquiries. It is a sign the company cares about its customers. A company that cares isn’t going to dress you in fakes or last season’s fashions.
Stay on trend and slay the office narcissist, in fashion of course, by buying the latest authentic designer fashion without breaking the bank account. She’ll soon put away the designer knock-offs and shut up.
