I am quite lucky – I actually live just a twenty five minute train ride from the capital – however that doesn’t mean I don’t want to enjoy the odd weekend in London and get away from the hassle of everyday life.
Sometimes you might get into London before your hotel or other accommodation is actually ready and you want to take in some of the sights. Why not take advantage of luggage storage in London so you can be sure your luggage is safe and secure whilst enjoying yourself?
Here are just a few ways you can be sure to enjoy your weekend in London.
Do Your Research
As it is the capital city, London has plenty to see and do and it can be tough to know what sights and landmarks are worth it. By doing a little bit of research before you head into the city, you will find out the places that people rave about and those they would suggest that you avoid. TripAdvisor is a great resource for finding out the best sights to see in the city.
Take In A Show
Why would you visit London and not visit the West End? There are so many wonderful shows that you can see right now so see what shows have seats available and take in a show – or two, or three!
Avoid The Crowds
Where possible, try to avoid the crowds. London can get so busy and it can be more than a little overwhelming sometimes! If you have managed to do some research, you might be able to find out the best times to visit certain places where you aren’t going to find too many people.
Don’t Forget The Green Spaces
It is easy to think of London as a concrete jungle but it also has some amazing green spaces. If you are visiting the city, then you don’t want to miss out on these wonderful places. Kew Gardens is somewhere I visited many years ago and is somewhere I would love to visit again – it’s hard to believe that it is in London!

Get Some Good Food
There are so many wonderful eateries and restaurants in the city that it can be tough to know where to eat. Why not enjoy some delicious street food one day before dining in at one of the capital’s many famed restaurants the next night? There are so many different cuisines to try and all at different price points that you really will be spoilt for choice.
Go Off The Beaten Track
If you aren’t interested in seeing all the sights like a typical tourist, then why not go off the beaten track and find the more obscure places that the capital has to offer? The city has many wonderful clubs, pubs and landmarks that aren’t as well known but still offer a fantastic experience. Why not find something that best suits your interests such as a comedy night in Camden or heading to a random pub in Clapham? Not all time spent in London has to be spent on the London Eye or looking at Big Ben!
Here are just a few ways that you can enjoy a weekend in London. Do you have any suggestions?
