A topic that many of you have been mentioning wanting to see more of is blogging tips and tricks. Even if some of you aren’t bloggers, you love reading all about the different things that go on and my own personal thoughts about blogging and the blogging community.
Something that a lot of people don’t understand is how us bloggers go about promoting our new posts on social media. To many, it seems super simple but in actual fact, it is quite a lot of work. To really promote your work, you need to be on all forms of social media – and whilst it would be great to be able to post this all organically, the truth is that many of us rely on schedulers to get most of our social posts out – instead organically posting only when we feel like it! Pinterest is a big driver of traffic to blogs so it is important to have high quality pins that people will want to click on. I’ve tried many different designs and different styles over the years – trying to find my own personal style that will still generate clicks. I have recently been trying out using my own fonts when designing pins – instead of using the ones that the design software has to offer.
I have been testing out different free font collections from Font Bundles to help me create my Pins – uploading them to Canva and finding my own personal style with them.
I like experimenting with different fonts and different designs to find the perfect ones for my site – I like using tech style backgrounds for blogging posts with bold fonts whereas for personal posts I would choose something a little gentler.
Font Bundles have such a wonderful collection of free fonts available for people to use – they add a brand new free font every week! Can you believe that all the free fonts are available to download instantly as soon as you have signed up for an account? I have a few select favourites – I used Winter Princess on the above pin and I think it epitomises me!
Whether you are a blogger creating pins or someone who creates other digital products, the right font is a must! It can be tough to find a font you really like among the more popular, well-known fonts out there which is why Font Bundles are such a fantastic resource. I love that you can find a font that suits you and your design – whether it is a a pin for a blog post, a digital product or something you are printing out such as a poster. You can find a font that many people may not have seen before and really shows off what you have to offer.
Choosing the right font can be difficult but it can have such an impact. Typography is important for a person and their brand for many reasons – you want something that is easily identifiable as ‘you’. Take a look at big brands – their names and logos are all easily identifiable – when you see that particular font, you will instantly recognise it as what that particular brand uses.
I’ve been using free fonts for my Pinterest pins and have now got plans to use them even more in the future. I am hoping to release some digital products in 2021 and will definitely be looking through the different fonts available to see what ones suit my projects best. I can’t wait to work through them and find some more that are completely and utterly ‘me’.
