How I Am Staying Organised With My Business

I have never been the most organised of people – always looking for something because I’ve put it down somewhere and can’t remember where. Since having the kids and having a multitude of appointments and different clubs to remember, organisation is of much more importance to me than it ever was before. To help me with my business,  I’ve been researching tips and tricks on how to organise myself and my business more effectively. You can learn more here.

But how exactly do I stay organised with my business?

File It Away

I love a good file. My email is full of different files – for blog work, I have one for blog comments and other non PR related stuff, a file for PR contacts, a file for outstanding payments, a file for this years payments, a file for this years expenses and a file for the previous years tax return information – payments and expenses together. By having all this information readily available, I can see what blog opportunities I need to reply to, which lovely people have stopped by to comment on my blog and who still owes me money for work I have completed. If I didn’t have these files, I’d be absolutely lost.

Think About What Products You Need – And Have Them Ready

How many times have you been looking for something and then finally realised that you have run out? I used to do it often until I got myself a little more organised. Whether you’re like me and need stuff like stationery or you’re a business who needs something like this: https://heatline.com/kompensator, by having it readily available or on the list ready to get, you won’t get stuck.

Having A Growth Plan

I am keen to try any new ways I can to grow my site and my business. Whether that is by utilising social media in a certain way or using a company such as Ignite Digital to help me with my SEO to bring results, I’ve found having a plan on how I will grow is helping to keep me organised too.

Having Set Times

Before I got myself sorted, I didn’t have set times for things. I now set myself time slots – a slot for blog work, a slot for VA stuff, a slot for freelance writing, a slot for scheduling my own socials, a slot for promoting new posts across Facebook groups. I used to do a mish mash of these in the past and I’d then find myself falling behind because I didn’t have a plan.

Utilise The Tools At My Disposal

I have to admit though – I wouldn’t be half as organised without the different tools I have at my disposal. Social media scheduling tools, different word processing programmes, data information websites such as Moz and Analytics – without these, I wouldn’t know if I was coming or going. These are super handy and something I totally rely upon for my business being organised. Keep in mind that to use these tools and ensure they are helpful, you’ll want to have a fast internet connection for your business. Look into business broadband options and choose to work with a reputable provider that can increase the speed of your connection. You’ll be more productive this way and can meet your goals in a timely manner. The right internet can also help you scale and grow your business over time.

If you run your own business, how do you stay organised? I’d love to hear your top tips to see if I can try anything new.
